when i have sleep paralysis i will try to get out by moving my head or my arms or trying to roll over or even standing up and talking with my eyes "closed" but then ill realize i was hallucinating it, so ill keep having false awakenings and trying to wait it out until i start getting anxious and i hallucinate like yelling to people in the other room that aren't there for help or like people coming in to wake me up and not being able to move and then at the end i finally wake up with a jolt. the false awakening/hallucinated movement thing is what i find strange though because i am genuinely unsure retrospectively whether my eyes are closed or open during it because when im in it i can see everything perfectly but when i get far enough away from my bed and start looking at my window or my wall or stand up or something its like the world dissolves before me and i teleport back into my bed and sit there with my eyes "open" again. it really feels like some inception soykaf. i have struggled with weird autistic dpdr stuff in my ordinary waking consciousness for a really long time

>>8187 I get something very similar. I go into sleep paralysis and every time I move I rubber-band back to my original position after like a second. For example, I might get up and start bouncing around the room like a fuarrrking beach ball doing backflips and disoriented, but then insta reset. These experiences seem to last a very long time. In addition, your description of the world dissolving before you - I have had something similar when I have moved too fast within dreams. It's like the dream cannot render terrain as fast as I am moving, then I wake up. Consider the following - when you have your eyes closed, and you put your palm in front of your face, you can see a faint outline of it, right? Proprioception. I find that in familiar environments, I can also see an outline of the room with my eyes closed. Perhaps because the room itself can be seen as an extension of the body, the environment you have influence on. I wonder if the nature of sleep paralysis changes if you are in an unfamiliar environment?

>>8187 I sometimes have these kinds of experience along with something else, sometimes lucid dream that I wake up in a certain position and then wake up in real life in another position (in the same environment)

Sleep paralysis is probably caused or exacerbated by hypoglycemia: drink some milk or juice before bed.
