I normally either don't remember dreams or have bad recurring ones about the same person so i try to forget them. The one i had last night was mostly the latter but im still groggy enough to remember an unrelated part.
In it I was watching something that looked realistic and was being streamed by 2 youtubers. i don't know if I was watching the livestream or watching them stream it irl. But the content of their stream was really outlandish, involving them telling a story that then began to happen. At one point there was a train and they kept talking about it falling into a pond, but there was no pond, only a field. so they started talking about it falling into "a field that was actually a pond", and parts of the field turned into a pond. i got the feeling these youtubers were very popular since their reactions were very youtubery "what!?!? that's actually a pond!?!??!! no way, hahahahhaa!!!! oh wow it really is!", and their viewers believed what they were seeing.
But i knew it was impossible and reasoned that the realistic part of the stream must be AI generated on demand according to the bizarre story the youtubers told. and I also believed the youtubers were improvising it and making stuff up as they went, trying to make the most bizarre story possible yet have the viewers still believe it. I don't know if the youtubers themselves were AI generated or real. i tried to talk to them to tell them and the stream that the soykaf was AI generated but they ignored me and it had no effect on the view count. They had all the stereotypical popular youtuber mannerisms. The person i try to forget was really invested watching the stream.
A realistic AI livestream being generated from an ongoing narration from a narrator as a prompt doesn't sound far off from reality. it's probably already been done. The novel part of my dream is that these youtubers were seemingly doing it for sport: they wanted to see how bizarre they could make it while still being believed by braindead viewers. they also didn't seem coordinated and they spontaneously built upon on what each other said. It almost sounds fun.
I feel like it's a sign I've been thinking too much about AI and the state of the web getting even worse because of it. hard not to think about that. If you have a different interpretation about that or about me, or advice on how to stop having recurring dreams about a person so i can have more of these stupid dreams instead, I'd like to hear.
