Lucid dream, recall, and genetics

Lord Nikon · 2023-10-08 13:33
hi lainons I've been interested in dreams and lucid dreaming for years. I've tried everything I could get my hands on through google search (WILD, MILD, reality testing though i suck at it, etc...), polyphasic sleep, and have been trying to keep a dream journal for a few years now. But to this day, I still have pretty low dream recall. Do you think some people might be just doomed by genetics? do you have ideas of what could unblock this kind of situation? Do you know of similar stories?

How colorful are your ordinary dreams? Maybe you just don't have enough imagination, but that's just a guess.

For several years now, the idea of lucid dreaming has come to my mind from time to time, but I refuse it, and a couple of days ago I had such a good dream that after it reality seemed boring and gray. I keep remembering this dream and I think that the memories of it could serve as a good motivation for returning to lucid dreaming attempts.

>>6481 i think thats a pretty interesting insight, i indeed dont think my dreams are very brightly colored. most of the time they're vaguely colored I'd say. Maybe i should look for exercises or tricks in that direction

>>6483 It's hard for me to imagine even a two-dimensional apple, so I don't find it strange that almost all of my dreams look faded and fragmentary, if I remember them at all

>>6480 If you smoke weed in the day you wont dream at night because weed shuts down rem sleep. When you're going to sleep try thinking of people you know, what they look like, dead relatives and friends is a good place to start, this way you don't forget what they look like. Make a short summary of your day. Picture places you visited and try to remember every detail.
