Rules in Dream Worlds

My friends say I tend to have "high-concept" dreams after a while sharing them, but what caught me off guard is when someone said my dreams tend to have some "precedent" of the laws of the world without any explanation. I thought this was normal. Do any other lainons tend to start off their dreams "knowing" how everything works? For example: >Start in the middle of an infinitely large forest, always dark, and a law, perfectly flat and impenetrable, leaf canopy, with a group of other folk >Start off understanding that I'm one of a few parties who search out the forest looking for any leads or things of interest to our community >One time knowing where to search my backpack for those sticky battery push-toggle lights to continue the breadcrumb trail from here to base >Dream starts seeing absolutely nothing outside my bed. I mean, maximum fog-of-war total blackness >Somehow knew something was right in front of my, so I reached out with my hands, screamed, and then woke up >Dream starts exploring a cave and seeing my friend on the floor crying >Eventually see a humanish creature, but not before eating... something(?)... on the floor that I understood represented my soul >Walked out of cave, saw someone, and had two understandings (???), both that that was the same friend, AND I know I forgot who they were and saw them as a stranger (!!!) I wrote this down the morning of, but with my friend acting almost as a bookend to the dream, I can't help but think that I might've added to this story after I woke up -- even though this is how I remember it happened. And my latest one: >Walk in a building and see four jumberjack-looking men at each corner of a room with headaches and a parchment-looking wallpaper taking the entire back of hte room >Instantly understand these are the four town(?) elders, who spend all day and night thinking about the law to see if there's any unforeseen consequences of combining the implications of multiple laws >Has a final say on whether a bill is passed, with the understanding they know if it will have any law interaction. >I was somehow able to instantly infer from the headaches that somebody had sent so many laws to the elders that it overwhelmed them and are now too confused to block any bad bills from coming in

Thumbing through my dream log after posting this and I found an even dumber instance of this: >family bought a replica Prague Clock (because other dream reasons), which turns out had a spider >spider has a narrative plot skull on its back showing it kills people, that everyone but me ignored. >eventually i was able to wrap the spider in plastic so it stops hunting me >apparently that voided the Prague Clock warranty, so it terminated its own license, stopped ticking, and killed the spider Even though I was told nothing about warranty, how the spider died, or why the clock stopped working, dream me just "knew" that the reason the clock stopped and spider died wasn't because I nullified the threat, but because wrapping the Prague Clock Spider in plastic voided the warranty. There was more involved in the dream, but this was the relevant part. Is this type of schizophrenic conclusion-jumping with rules I wasn't told about normal in other people's dreams?

Yeah I get this very frequently. Dream up into some strange complicated place and know exactly how to walk anywhere relevant in the dream, or who specific people are and how they relate to things or their motivations and all, as well as the general nature of what's going on. Ah yes, we're fighting a war, against the neighbors. Let me go grab my sword and armour and we can go set up an ambush in the valley exactly where they're going to be heading just about now. Sort of just understanding bizzare and otherwise seemingly nonintuitive things. I do get surprised in dreams from time to time but frequently in the moment of surprise I immediately understand the nature of the thing that surprised me. That is, even when I get surprised I'm extremely seldom baffled truly. If I understand what you mean that is...

Dreams are like little holes to gaze over and in. I want to walk them. For me, words on my page.

>>5793 I believe this can be true of anyone. Mine certainly have very similar themes, there are distinct styles which are marked by the depth of sleep state, awareness of the dream, etc. Many of the themes and similarities are, in my opinion, too experiential to be put into words, at least ones that communicate what I mean properly (also because I am retarded at writing). Most people won't notice this in their own dreams, you have to pursue these types of dreams I think, by engaging with them (recording them, remembering them, thinking of them, etc), and most people don't try do this at all. At least I notice when I slip with my dream diary, my dreams become harder to remember and less frequent too.

Facts are discovered Truths are made There's a mix in the scape without either, whatever's true in your head turns to fact in a dream. I might be spaking soykaf, though.

I have always thought this was hypnagogia, although now, with age, I better understand hypnagogia to be a more nuanced unbrella of emotion. These are false memories and in the waking world you can time how ridiculously fast (seemingly less than 1 second) these can take effect in your mind. Keeping track of that is difficult because you are awake but in a hypnagogic hallucination... how do you know that you aren't you, such and such doesn't exist, it is in fact night and not day, etc? It is like practicing DEILD, the problem being to actually remember something at a point when you can't really remember things accurately. These are not things you can make sense of; people like Tibetans categorize exact apprehension of these overnights under the 5th of 10 bhumis of awakening, and that itself is a near-impossible feat... although everyone gets hints of this stuff every now and then.
