Whenever some random name pops up in my dream, I make it a mission of mine to remember so I can look it up when I wake up. I usually have to go through multiple dream logic loops in order to retain the name, but it never turns out to be interesting like in my dream.

You mean I can have the actual experience of sex in my dream and still remain a virgin? That's an awesome lifehack.

I often have melodies or whole songs show up in my dreams that presumably don't exist but it's borderline impossible to remember them, much less figure out if they exist or not

I once dreamed that my dad was messing around with some black market lighter fluid and I dreamed a distinct chemical name for it, it was like Diphosphoduranite or something, I looked it up as soon as I woke up but it was not real.

I have only heard music in my dreams one time in my whole life, and I can still remember the song exactly. It sounded Celtic / Gaelic and consistent mainly of a flute and a female vocalist. It was very upbeat, but it had a wistful and almost melancholic edge to it. The words of the chorus sounded something like "heilige ta dast da nach. hulieh ta dast da na ta nach. heilege ta dast da nach. holieh ta na da na ta." Kind of a halfway between German and Old English.

Harnessing hypnagogia is actually a nice tactic for creativity. I believe that some inventors used to harness it.
