When I wake up, mostly from nightmares I see two eyes staring at me when I close mine. I feel as if something is trying to connect to me. Not just that if the eyes aren't here I'll see images of old buildings, scenes, people and etc. Anyone else? What does it mean?

It's exactly as you're seeing, OP. Though it's not something that can be believed when told, unless you're just gullible and stupid. On the other hand, if it was just some freaky lookin literal cat like your pic, would you really be freaking out so much? Probably not, but if it's pissing your bed you probably don't want to pet it either. Nor should you pick up the phone for spam callers.
Oh and the dream thing... practice lucid dreaming. Kung fu those nightmares back to sender.

I'm not crazy, but I'm open to the possibility that dreams may be some form of interpersonal, or even intrapersonal, communication. It's hard deciphering dreams because we only have half of the message. If you and I are talking on a street, I'm not just receiving your verbal statements, there's a whole context that comes with it. Location, facial expressions, personal history, all of this is helps make up the message and allows me to decipher it. Put simply, don't worry about what your dreams mean because unless we have more info we'll never know for sure.

If you made a thread about this theory I'd love to read it

the eyes remind me of shadow people

It's a dissociated part of yourself. Your shadow perhaps, or a parent-figure that's always watching you.
