Dreamed of a lifetime

I had a dream that I could swear lasted an entire lifetime, shortened only by the usual lapses of memory of the dream. In the dream I was another person and it started since I (the dream me) was a little kid. I had a mostly normal life in the dream, I played with friends, went to school, had loving parents. I had a special friend, I used to remember the name but not anymore. I spent most of the time with that friend, went to school together, all kinds of things. So the dream continued, I lived through my teens. After high school, a war broke in the country I was living in (the world seemed to be earth, but maybe an alternative history earth) and my friend and I were caught in a battle in our city. We were trying to escape and hide from the gunfire and explosions, but a grenade exploded near us and it injured my friend badly and she died later from the injuries. I went to her funeral and everything. Then I remember spending the rest of the dream, of what I remember, mourning that friend and the hole that she left in my life. I don't remember much more. The dream was happening just like life. no surreal stuff, it was all just like living a normal life. It probably lasted the entire lifespan of that dream me. It's the only time I have had a dream like that. All my other dreams are the usual surreal, fantastical stuff that normally happens in dreams. But it was so real that sometimes I feel like I miss that friend like if all that had happened in the past for real.

>>5134 What if that is a dream of a possible future life you might have? I know the cliche is past lives but what about future?

what if it was memories from a previous life?

>>5134 Robert Monroe wrote about repeatedly and unintentionally entering another person's body in another universe and living his life. It's mentioned right in the first book I believe.
