Tire your mind (solve chess puzzles, read books, solve regular puzzles, etc) and your body (workout) so you're more tired.

Every once in a while stay awake for the night or wake up earlier. Helps reset your sleep cycle to be sleep deprived. Scan through your body, relaxing each part in turn and making sure its comfortable. Then clear your mind and focus on your breath for 10 breaths or so. Then imagine a relaxing scene where you would like to fall asleep like laying on a beach or something.

>>5041 To add to lainon here, preferably an activity that doesn't need a screen. IF you will use a screen tho, activate a blue-light filter so it doesn't mess too much with your sleep rhythm/schedule. It's known to mess with hormones related to sleep like melatonin.

if caffeine is in ur diet, remove it. make sure u have as little light in the room as possible. find a comfy position and stay in that position. itches will pass w/ time. imagine + visualize your body melting into ur bed.

Lay in bed, and whatever you do, do not check your phone, and especially don't check the time. If the little devil on your shoulder keeps telling you to grab your phone, consider putting it on a table far away from your bed where you can't reach it. You will eventually get bored and fall asleep without realizing it.

>>5038 Reduce your calorie intake. One of the reasons why many people have trouble falling asleep is because they have unburnt sugar in their blood. Don't eat for most of the day and then just before going to sleep eat a lot of low calorie vegatables.
Wintermute · 2021-11-07 15:06
>>5047 I should add that human body apparently has quite a trouble digesting vegetables and so it puts itself into some kind of "rest mode" to digest them properly and while in this mode it makes it easier for you to fall asleep..

Sleep has been a pain in the ass for me as of late, I've had a pretty soykaf cold the past few days which has prevented me from sleeping bar passing. The best way to counter this is to get a good schedule of sleep, for example falling asleep at 12 am every night. Try taking sleeping meds to get into this rhythm, I've been a fan of melatonin as of late, but there are other options. >>5043 also very good advice, AMSR helps me relax when my mind is racing, whether that be stress from work or something else
Dozer · 2021-11-15 03:23
shoot up melatonin, should work
Armitage · 2022-12-21 06:05

To anyone struggling with insomnia, I recommend this guy: https://www.youtube.com/@InsomniaCoach/videos My own experiences with it are fortunately limited, but when I was dealing with insomnia resulting from anxiety, this really helped me. Also consider getting checked up for physical causes if this is a common issue.

>>5038 What worked for me is imagining random flashes of scenes, memories, thoughts etc. Keep these images flashing in your mind, don't think too hard on what image should come up next. It doesn't have to be unique or connected. Just keep flashing, do not move your body. At some point this flashing will become involuntary and you'll not have to conciously think about it and then you'll just drinf into sleep. Make sure to start with eyes closed; in sleeping posture.

>>5038 If you have chronic insomnia, ask your doc for Imovane. Don't take seroquel, it fuarrrking is like kicking dead whales down the beach and it also causes addiction (in my personal experience). If you can't get Imovane prescription, you should ask for mirtazapine instead and take as little as you can (I take half a tablet). You should also try taking magnesium supplement (I recommend magnesium (bis)glycinate or magnesium taurate) before going to bed. Also, try going to bed before midnight and around the same time each night helps. >>5953 this. install redshift.
Joe Bloggs · 2022-12-26 04:16
>>5957 seroquel is like weed with twice the retardation. im pretty sure it causes brain damage or at least increases depressive effects. everybody i've seen on seroquel has been like a zombie stuffing their face with junk food and sleeping 14 hours a day barely able to respond to social stimulation
