Lucid Dreaming Anxiety

Hello lainons, I couldn't find a thread to stick this in, so apologies if there is a better place for this. I've tried lucid dreaming in the past, specifically the WILD method. Yesterday I tried it meditating beforehand. Now to express my problem, when I attempt WILD I lay flat on my back, ignoring all sensations. Eventually I will reach a semi-hypnogognic state. I immediately become aware of my body again at this phase and have to try to fall back into a hypnogognic state. If I persist, my heartrate rapidly elevates and no matter how hard I try I'm brought back to having to manually breathe to stop myself from blacking out and dying. Thus ending my attempt at lucid dreaming for the night. I can only describe it as equivalent to a panic attack, it's completely involuntary. So last night instead of quitting from exhaustion I persisted through for what felt like 7 gruelling minutes of chest heaving heart racing sheer mental willpower to prevent myself from getting up. Then after a long while just lying there I managed to get my heartrate down and I was back at stage 0. I opened my eyes and did an RC and nope. I was not dreaming. Wat dou?

>>4954 I'd just ditch WILD altogether if I were you. You're obviously forcing yourself too hard into a state neither your body nor your mind wants any part of.

For a long time I have been carrying notebooks of dreams and collecting interpretations, but now that I knew that lucid dreaming is possible I became quite afraid of it: in Castaneda's books, the shaman Don Juan Matus tells: "the world of dreams is just as real as ours and actions there have consequences, just as actions here". The thing is, if I had a lucid dream, I am now nagged because my desires could actually achieve its interpretations in reality if what they is true. My actual obsession is to try holotropic breathwork, so I may actually have some trip without carrying with me the obnoxious chances that LSD provides.
