Have you ever "gone beyond" in your dreams? I will explain what I mean with an experience I had a few years ago but that I still remember very vividly (in fact, it is still one of my most memorable dreams and I may have posted it here before).
>be human spaceman in the far future
>starship is fairly old and well-used, if you want a good idea of how it felt to be on that ship imagine a somewhat battle-tested World War II ship
>anyways, begin jump to lightspeed.
>female AI voice says, "You are now entering: Dark Space."
>I know that this is not programmed into the ship's list of destinations, as all reachable locations have been catalogued by now. Preternatural dread overcomes my body
>fly through a solar system much like ours at an astounding rate (yellow sun with rocky and gas giant planets orbiting them); think kinda like driving through a city block at 80 miles per hour
>I can see the *exact* paths that the planets are taking and I know the *exact* physical equations for everything taking place in that solar system
>The solar system begins to disappear from view and the stars begin to fade from my vision
>soon there is only black
>Immense, purple starlike objects come into my view- I only see about 10-20 of them in my field of vision but I know that there are more that are impossibly far away
>I should mention the size of these objects- yes, they looked sort of like stars (pic related- it looks very similar to what I saw) but I got the sense that these objects were somehow infinite in size in a way that I could not understand
>Feel extreme anxiety as I sit there, unthinking (just feeling the dread and watching the stars). In what might have been 10 seconds or 10 quadrillion years (my mind had no idea whether the dream felt short or long- it felt like neither), I wake up.
Did I contact a being beyond human comprehension? I definitely got the feeling that I wasn't supposed to be there and I was "taken" there for reasons that I do not know.
Do any of you Lains have a story about exiting the universe like that? I've never done drugs before but that's the closest I've gotten to a trip.

One thing that I forgot to mention in my post was that what I described sounds remarkably similar to HP Lovecraft's Yog Sothoth
>Imagination called up the shocking forms of fabulous Yog-Sothoth—only a congeries of iridescent globes, yet stupendous in its malign suggestiveness.
HP Lovecraft also had "nightmares," although to what effect those were "dread" dreams like the one I just described vs those that were actual nightmares is debatable.
Do you guys think such a being could be real? Or do you think that there's something about the human psychology that attempts to personify infinity like this? Old Testament angels had similar horrific forms.

This isn't quite the same, but I also had a dream that at a certain point wasn't a normal dream anymore:
>I am walking through the forest on a relatively wide path for a long time without anything of note happening
>All of a sudden out of nowhere I get this feeling of dread
>I look around but don't see anything
>I keep walking and hear a loud skittering sound behind me
>I don't look back but run towards the door of a nearby cabin, hurl myself inside, and slam the door behind me
>I feel incredibly exhausted and fall asleep (within my initial dream)
>When I wake up, there are other cabins around and lots of other people are being directed to one place, as if we were in some kind of summer camp
>I follow the line of people into a smaller trail through the trees
This is where I "went beyond"
>As soon as I stepped into the treeline, I looked back at the people behind me. They were all gone, and the path I was on extended backwards infinitely. I then looked forward and everyone in front of me was gone too.
>The path was now flanked by short trees (maybe 10-15 feet high) with beautiful crimson leaves. Fallen leaves were blowing across the ground and the trees on each side of the path nearly connected in the middle above it, creating a tunnel-like impression.
>Through the gaps in the leaves above me, I saw two celestial bodies; both were colors that do not exist in the waking world. The larger of the two was a "cool" color, similar to blue or green, but neither of those. The smaller was warm, vaguely similar to orange.
As soon as I saw these colors, I realized that I was dreaming... but that's not quite right. I was fully aware of the fact that I had gone to sleep in some other reality, I remembered everything about waking life, but I still perceived my current situation as real. I have had lucid dreams before but this has never happened before or since. I saw a door at the end of the path, and a sort of euphoria grew inside me as I realized I had died in my sleep and was now progressing towards the afterlife. I am not suicidal or even depressed in the waking world, but upon seeing that door waking life ceased meaning anything to me. I didn't feel any regrets, I just felt at peace and so, so happy. I kept walking towards the door and then at the last moment before I stepped through, a voice on my left said something to me, I turned to look and saw a figure who was already walking away from me. I then felt a light inside my head (I know it doesn't make sense) and before I could turn back to the door I was awake.
This dream, or whatever it was, changed my outlook on life. Ever since then, I have had almost no interest in anything material. I have slightly "recovered" from the feeling of detachment from my waking life that I felt at that moment, but I will never be the same. I am constantly focused on spiritual things now. I don't know what that experience was or whether I actually nearly died in my sleep, but it was certainly not "just a dream". Sorry for the inconsistent greentexting, whenever I describe this it just turns into a stream of consciousness and I have to let it flow freely.

>It is for reasons such as these, Asclepius, man is a mighty wonder,—an animal meet for our worship and for our respect.
>For he doth pass into God’s Nature, 1 as though himself were God. This genus [also] knows the genus of the daimons, as though man knew he had a [common] origin with them. He thinketh little of the part of human nature in him, from confidence in the divineness of [his] other part.

That sounds a lot like astral projection to me. The knowledge about the physical state of the solar system too... sounds like an encounter with the beyond for sure. I've not experienced that with dreams, but have with strong psychedelics and via meditation. You are lucky!
