Does it mean something if there are a few recurring places in my dreams that are just way "grander" than they are in real life? There are three in particular:
One is my friend's house with an additional room. He's pretty rich, so he has this big house with a second floor bridge made of glass, a lot of plants, a small fountain etc. The only big thing that really changes is that there's a massive extra room with a campfire and huge, long tables, it looks like how I would imagine a banquet hall in Valhalla. The overall layout of the house is a bit off as well, with different rooms and paths that aren't there in real life, but the place they are in is always consistent. I was at this place maybe 3 times in my life, he lives pretty far away so I don't visit him often.
The dreams this place appears in usually are about going outside of the house and making him mad because of my own incompetence. I remember three: The more recent one, where we were at his place and he had some sort of jogging instructor over. We wanted to go jogging but I kept delaying it by going to get something and then forgetting about it, falling asleep etc. The other one was something about looking for objects in massive warehouses near his house(there are none in real life) and getting lost. The third one was something like a party or a meetup with a few others where I kept messing up the food.
The second place is a baroque version of my old school. The layout doesn't really change, it just gets larger I think, I never explored it and haven't been able to lucid dream myself into it. The exterior and the hallways become ornate and beautiful. The rooms are normal, but filled with outdated computer equipment and oddly placed school related objects like blackboards or tables. The room I'm usually in is where a music room was, near a room where I had Latin. I didn't really like those subjects, but I don't have strong feelings about them. I don't know why it's this place in particular. These dreams are usually about being part of unusual club activities like playing Counter Strike or being as clean as possible. I'm in these clubs with one or two friends and everyone else is someone from school I barely spoke to and who isn't the kind of person who would be in this club. There's no conflict, we just do the activity without questioning it and it's kind of fun.
The third place is some sort of store. It's filled to the brim with games, game related stuff and new Bionicle sets, none of which exist in real life. Everything except the products has small lights or colorful light panels on them. It kind of looks like a cyberpunk city. The dreams are just me browsing through the store. There are no people and I don't buy anything. I don't enter, I don't leave, I'm just inside and look at the things. The layout is consistent too with an average store width, but it's a pretty deep room. At the back end theres a huge shelf that reaches the top and shines even more, that's where I usually am.
I like all of these places and enjoy being there, despite the context of the friend's house dreams and the fact I didn't like school. I don't know a lot about dreams so I have no idea if it means anything or is just random real-life inspired stuff my brain made up at one point and just reuses, but I wanted to make this post for a long time now. If no one can tell me anything about it, I hope there's still someone who found this interesting.
