What is the happiest dream you've ever had?
Elliot Alderson · 2021-01-12 21:16
I'm glad you asked this.... I dream every single night but this made me realize very few times do I have a happy dream, or when I do sometimes I will forget to write it down For me, probably this dream where I am walking along a sort of road with an airstrip on my way to a terra cotta large building, and I have some sort of suit on. There are a few fighter jets on the airstrip and people are waving as I walk to the building, but I should explain, I'm not a nationalistic or patriotic person and would hate to be conscripted, so to see all these people and be some sort of respected person with fancy airplanes is very unusual. I get to the building and there is a banquet inside, a lot of people in various styles of uniforms smiling, and greeting me, There are prepared dished such as chicken, rice, and salad stuff in the metal bins in the deli thing. I walk near one of the tables and someone approaches me, with another suit he hands me, this time it's green with lots of blue emblems and lines on it. The reason it was remarkably happy compared to my usually benign or crisis-ridden dreams was because people were exceptionally happy I was in charge of something and there was a feast. Looking back it makes me really sad actually this is supposed to be the happiest dream I've ever had... I wish it was one about some beautiful landscape or love or a deep story of something but I can't recall a really happy one of those. Even though I record all of them... What about you anon? I hope to hear you've have a better dream than me

Happiest... I don't usually feel any strong emotions in dreams, they are like watching a movie for me, so all good dreams are somewhat happy. Most recent good dream I've had was about climbing a very tall building, more than 30 stories high, with two of my childhood friends. For some reason we were in Germany as tourists, so we tried not to attract much attention. Building was abandoned, so we took the stairs to the roof. Sun was just beginning to set and dust was dancing in the warm rays of yellow light that came through the dirty broken windows. On the roof, we just stood for a while, looking at the tiny town below, with seemingly infinite forest around it. I lied down there on my back, closed my eyes and saw warm orange colors. Building felt really small for some reason, same width as my body, and I hanged my arms and legs from it. It was slightly swaying from the wind, as all tall buildings do, I felt warmth of the sun, smell of sun-blasted dust, distant chirping of birds in the forest, warm orange filled my whole sight and I woke up.

When I was eight I saw an angel standing in the sky over this city. It was sunny and she was the sort of modern depiction of an angel, the white robes and stuff. I realized even at that age how lucky I was. I was so happy I screamed. This is the part that makes it sound like a made up story for an imageboard and where it loses the "happiest thing ever" quality. I didn't notice until after I woke up, the angel had my mother's face. I also didn't know she was sick in real life, or about to be. She died within a year of this dream. Not kidding.

I had this really euphoric dream where I scored a goal that granted my local football promotion back to the second division. maybe not "happy" in a personal sense, but the feeling of seeing 50000 people erupt in joy at once, all because of me, was special. these feelings of communal bliss are really unmatched, it's something I hope everyone buys into

Back in college I knew a girl who was probably the closest I had ever been to having a girlfriend. She was kind of weird, possibly autistic/ADHD, but somehow the two of us got along really well. Yet despite us being so close, I was too stupid to keep in contact with her after I left. A few years after graduating, I have a dream where it's Valentine's Day and I'm hanging around campus for some reason, and eventually I run into her again. We pull out a bag of candy and give it to each other, then she hugs me very tightly and whispers "I love you" in my ear. Then we just stood there for a good five minutes in each other's arms, enjoying the warmth. From there we wind up having an impromptu date where we explored campus until I woke up. Whole thing left me feeling depressed for the whole day, and I even wound up taking a walk around campus later that week.

Jumped out of the window of an apartment building. I was still alive when I hit the floor but I was clearly dying and the realization that I would soon be gone had me crying tears of joy. I guess it's pretty edgy but that was genuinely the first time I've ever felt such intense and overwhleming happiness.

I was hanging out with my best friend just skipping in an empty highway adjacent to my house. It was just full of euphoria as simple as it sounds.

>>3958 Not sure if I posted this anywhere else on this board but whatever. My happiest dream ever was when I was in a sort of paradise, I was in a building that was massive in size and visually looked similar to a mall, every need or want I could ever have was satisfied, I then encountered and embraced my GF that I had not seen for ages and that feeling I can't feeling I can only describe as pure bliss, it was one of the most intense feelings of happiness and love I have ever felt. The details after this have mostly been forgotten, but what I do remember was the world starting to fade and fall apart, though I still felt happy and content for some reason, and then I woke up, when I woke up I had the worst feeling of dread you could imagine.
Spooky · 2021-02-04 13:14
Lainons, why do I only ever feel happy in my dreams? How do I get that feeling in real life :(

I played a game at home with this girl that I used to like for a while and had tons of fun, afterwards I was sat on top of a mountain in Antarctica on the fluffy snow overlooking the ocean while the sun was melting down dripping into the water. It was shockingly warm...

Doesn't sound happy but the dream was, a city at night, empty, the buildings being gradually demolished by automated construction machinery. It wasn't a lucid dream, but I could somehow directly feel the dream being created and shown, like the purest possible expression of myself.
BloodCat · 2021-02-12 00:29
>>3958 It was in a lucid dream where I overlooked the dusk skyline of my old town, on the roof patio of a restaurant. The next building over I could hear audible music from below, I have not experienced more euphoria in my life listening to that music watching the belt of Venus rising over the city skyline as day turned to night.

>>3958 >What is the happiest dream you've ever had? The one where one imaginary girl became my friend. We were so happy together. I don't remember much from that dream but she was really lively. I remember holding her hands and looking at her face but nothing besides this.

I was in this very slippery wet space. I could move around freely in this space as if I was playing a video game with noclip on. I could feel everything, it was all slippery. It was like surfing without a surfboard or ice skating without skates. Very abstract and hard to describe. I wasn't submerged in water it was more like I was skating just at the surface of a big, formless ocean. I felt like other people were there with me, and we were all slipping around this damp wet abyss together, it was pure bliss. The closest I've ever felt to not having a physical body. Visually, it looked like a mishmash of colors - looked a bit like a broken LCD TV. I rarely dream anymore since I smoke a bunch of pot but this one was a treat. Most of my dreams are perverse and unwanted.

Impossible for me to say, a happy dream is the saddest one upon waking and the saddest or most disturbing are sometimes the happiest ones upon waking. And I only can understand and remember my dream retroactively. I reall only know which dreams were the most emotionally impactful and have brought me the most happiness so here is one. Me and a girl who looked abnormally cartoonish but still real volunteered to do like a human experiment for a lab as part of an assignment our professor gave us for some psychology class. His office was weird it looked like some dusty gothic vampire den with candleabras and red carpets and stone floors, and hed just always be sort of chilling and sitting on a center raised stone one leg raised up and the other outstretched. We would just sort of stand as we talked to him very casually and it was implied this was a pretty respected professor by us and we also were like his closest student assistants. We went to the lab and our mouths were somehow sewn shut but not in a gruesome wat really, I used to remember how it looked but I dont anymore. We were each put in a cell facing eachother and given paper to draw eachother repeatedly. And thats all we could do that was mentioned in the dream stare at eachother and draw the others face. After some unspecified time had passed that waking i equated to a week for some reason so il go with that the experiment was almost over and the final bit was they took our drawings but now looking at myself from the third person whatever the experiment was had caused me to absolutely flip out upon them trying to take my drawings. I was sobbing and screaming and fighting them, and if I remember the girl was upset too but had for whatever reason known this was going to happen or been through this before. We went back to the professors den to report the findings and we were visibly shaken especially me so she was talking. He had that kind of "soykaf im sorry guys" look and kind of somberly reacted as we reported the test results. She took me up on a hill later that night after to comfort me and said something like "You need to howl, they wont know your alive unless you howl" and we both began screaming. I remember that FKA twigs song "hide" which I had hardly listened to before this dream was playing as we begun screaming. It was oddly this weird cinematic like ending where.my perspective began floating up to the sky away from my body as this happened and I just woke up, with this completely uninterrupted satisfying but sort of melancholy dream. That's never happened to me where a dream ended smoothly and not abruptly, like was self aware it was the conclusion. This is the only dream or maybe just the first where I distinctly heard an actual real song as it was. Nothing was more insane to me as I searched through FKA twigs discography because I only recognized it as her voice and actually found the song I couldnt believe it. Every time ive dreamed of some song and thought god that was beautiful it wasnt something that existed ot I at least couldnt find it. This is also the dream that confirmed for me what I always thought that the idea that you only dream of faces youve seen is false. I still vaguely remember the girls face and like I said while it looked real and was pretty it was in proportions that would never exist. I draw quite a lot and I always thought that idea was bull because while like anything we usually are pulling pieces from stuff weve seen I could always draw brand new faces, edit them, move things left and right. Naturally I looked it up and got what should have been obvious response of "Yes it has no basis, consider how on earth would they even find that out". So overall a really fulfilling dream in a variety of ways, even if not happy. So much so I remember most of the story and can share it despite never writing it down.

Dreaming about go back to school, but a really different school, new and have sci fi feeling on it, with few of my classmate talking about why there a couple of snake skeleton on school gate, they say it was upperclasmen that killed those two snake, because i was sick on the first day on school, i know nothing about this school, so they give me tour and explaining what school is this. I forgot the majority of this dream, but feeling so happy in the morning

I had a dream where I had two kids. A boy and a girl. We were happy and having fun. At the end of the day they looked at me and asked: "Do you like this?" I'm guessing they meant the life I was living so I replied: "Yes" "Then don't let it end" I still am not sure what kind of dream it was. It was happy in the beginning but when I woke up I am not sure what I felt

i had a dream where I helped a group of maritime villagers turn salt water into fresh water, which really instilled me with a sense of purpose. I've had a few dreams in a sunlit natural environment with other people. Many of my dreams end up turning into nightmares, but I'm still glad I can have nice dreams once in a while. I enjoy the weird ones the most. Dreams can be very entertaining.
Acid Burn · 2026-06-10 18:50
>>3958 I had a dream not that long ago where I got to hang out with my brother one last time. It was so... real. I saw his features and mannerisms with such clarity it was almost as if I wasn't dreaming at all. I'm glad I got to see him and talk to him again, if only in my dreams.
Aristóteles Amadópulus · 2026-06-12 10:20
The dreams I have that are good are rare. Some of the dreams I've had that have been good have been sex dreams. I don't get those so much anymore. One was really strange. I was in a salvador dali painting-type desert landscape and I could tell there was a succubus nearby. I tried to escape it but it caught me and when that happened I came. This succubus was in the form of a thermometer. I was trying to avoid this but I got to cum so that's something as close to "happy" I can recall having in a dream. I normally never remember any of the dreams I have, but that was one I'll never forget
Morpheus · 2026-06-13 21:08
Not sure if it was exactly happy. Last night I dreamed about sleeping in the same bed as my favorite anime girl. She was having a nightmare or something so I wrapped her in my arms and calmed her down. It was nice. I wanted to just hold her like that and keep her safe and not let go.

>>3958 Me and my crush were cuddling each other, laying down in a comfortable bed under a blanket, it was so nice and I felt complete. Waking up was brutal. We do have a lot of things in common, but for some reason she never reciprocated or showed interest.

I was walking with this cute girl I used to like. Started raining, we took cover and then we went inside some place. The dream then fast-forward into me in bed with her having her and our daughter both in my arms. The feeling of wholeness and happiness was something I've never felt before. Most beautiful dream I've ever had

I am completely alone in a red wasteland, with a red sky. I can see some mountains in the distance, also completely red and spoiled of any vegetation. I think I am wearing some kind of combat gear with a mask and filters. At some point I find a giant mechanical door to a bunker, I manage to open it, and I can't see anything beyond it because it's pitch black. End. What's strange is that it sounds like a nightmarish dream but I've never felt so at peace with myself. Pic is what the wasteland looks like.
