>>3641 I get more of a faint tinnitus. However I remember reading about this sound in a pretty well-known meditation manual. I'll come back to this thread when I find the paragraph. Is there any benefit to this meditation? How did you come up with the idea and why call it "wired"? Also, is that a telegram screenshot?

>>3645 >Is there any benefit to this meditation? Nothing more than regular meditation afaik, but I'm curious to see if anyone will have any interesting experiences >How did you come up with the idea and why call it "wired"? At some point I was meditating and I noticed that buzzing sound so I focused on it. I called it wired because I think it makes a sound similar to power lines >Also, is that a telegram screenshot? yes

It's probably faint tinnitus. I wonder what the spamfilter detected. Also, I don't think one should ever empty one's mind. The mind isn't a problem per se, it's just that many a person doesn't use it properly. It's easier, and sufficient, to focus on one thing, and empty-mindedness can be dangerous. For example, after prolonged empty-mindedness, it's difficult to return to having many thoughts. Also, having many thoughts also isn't a problem per se. The problem is disorganized thoughts.

>>3661 empty-mindedness is a tool for some occult stuff that I will not discuss here, but yeah it's not recommanded for "regular" meditation

Just a warning, don't concentrate on tinnitus. If you think about it, it's a signal to your brain that it's important and to not filter it as much. That makes it seem louder and more pervasive.

>>3672 Not sure if this is true, but I have permanent tinnitus in my right ear and it is like kicking dead whales down the beach so I wouldn't risk it.

>>3813 Mine is medium light (can hear it over a computer fan) but I can forget about it for days.

>3813 >3814 While we're on the topic of tinnitus... Is the sound you hear monotonous or slowly oscillating? If it's the latter, have you ever had it speed up or slow donwn? I'm asking because I had a very strange experience one night - I was watching youtube vids on 1.25x speed and when I put my laptop or phone away and laid in bed it seemed that I was hearing my tinnitus at 1.25x speed as well...

>>3671 can you discuss "some occult stuff" here , as an exception

>>3661 Emptying the mind is good, when you need to somehow rest from mindwork without sleeping.
