Today I had a weird dream, but that dream gave me an interesting idea, which I don't think it's practical, but before explaining that idea here is the dream:
>It was dream speedrunning day
>I decided I would participate this time
>The goal was to have the biggest amount of dreams in 24 hours, starting from 00:00:00 and ending at 23:59:59
>I had a total of 3 dreams (which is funny in retrospect because technically I had 3 dreams within a dream, and they were not nested, and I remember two of those dreams)
>Upon waking up from every single dream I had to register when I woke up and describe the dream, which most people did in about 3 words or a single phrase
>The world record holder had hundreds of dreams registered
I know this would not be practical in any way, but it would still be fun to see something like that be tried. The rules would be very similar to what I have pictured in that dream:
>The event lasts from 00:00:00 to 23:59:59
>If you fall asleep before 23:59:59 and wake up after that, any dreams that you had during that time do not count to your total amount of dreams
>The same thing applies if you fall asleep before 00:00 and wake up after that
>You can only register dreams if you remember at least one thing that happened in it
>You need to be de facto asleep to be able to record a dream, sleep paralysis doesn't count, "seeing images behind your eyelids" doesn't count
>Anesthesia and medicines made specifically to help you fall asleep are considered illegal, foods and beverages that help you sleep such as some types of tea are permitted
>Upon waking up you need to register any dreams you have had, if you fall asleep before registering a dream you have had previously and remember it after waking up you cannot register that dream anymore
>If you had multiple dreams in one night you must be absolutely sure that those dreams were not the same dream to register all of them, and to do that you must describe how each one of the dreams (except for the first) start
>You can use an alarm to help you wake up, there is no limit to how many times you can use the alarm to wake you up and you can set up when the alarm is going to ring during the time of the competition
>It is illegal to make someone else wake you up by physical contact (direct or indirect, for example someone cannot shake your bed to wake you up, or to blow on your face), though it is permitted for that person to wake you up with noise
Though unfortunately there is no way to make sure that someone is not cheating. Since this is experimental and will probably never happen, feel free to suggest new rules or new modalities.
