Hello, Lain. All my dreams are anxiety dreams. Most are nightmares, where I kill someone in a blind state and immediately after noticing what I did, I get completely desperate and need to run and hide. Others happen in more causal settings, like in my house with my family, but I have a different body. All of them involve getting really anxious about something usually until a state of despair and self-loathing. I don't remember the last calm, insightful or peaceful dream I had. They all involve a extreme state of alertness. Does anyone feel that way? What do you think that means?

I have something similar, I didnt notice it at first but ever since I started writing down my dreams Ive realized theyre all about guilt in some way or another, and I end up in a very distressed despair/self-loathing state by not being able to bear that guilt.
I have no idea what it means

Are you an anxious person in general, anon?

I've had a couple of these in the past couple weeks, usually involve a family member and them talking or acting in a way that makes me anxious, causing a panic attack. might be the antidepressants, might be the general anxiety.

Definitely those cliché dreams where I am naked for no apparent reason. Dear god those inspire so much anxiety and shame for me. Luckily I haven't had any of those recently.

ween yourself off of ssris as much as possible. i took heavy doses of ssris for about 3 years when i was too young to really grasp their effects and they gave me constant nightmares as well as dreams where i killed my parents and friends.

fuarrrk, ive had those. i am so glad for this thread.
i remember dreaming that me and my friends were hanging out and eventually some bad situation came up. i took the chance to murder the intruder in this case, and i remember being terrified like ive never ever been. (i cant remember this one very well)
another anxiety dream i had was when i was hanging out late at night in a bar i know with friends, when eventually the door that leads to the exit becomes guarded by some sort of pool of hogs, filled with body parts, bottles, and dried blood on the ground. at that time, everyone was paying attention to people trying to get over the challenge in order to leave, and the outcome of each attempt would either make the people cheer (if they win) or ridicule. i remember being absolutely stressed out of myy mind when my time came, but luckily i made it. i woke up shortly after a friend died in there
i think i can establis some sort of connection between dream anxiety and my reaction to stressful situations ive been through. which is odd, because the outcome has never been as bad as my panicked self would have envisioned. its as if the idea of being absolutely fuarrrked remained on top of what was logical at te time. looking back, the "hog challenge" wasnt even hard, but some people still managed to eat soykaf. all it required was a jump. i think theres something very bad about the way i deal with stressful events, and i know i only started to address that because i began having those dreams not long ago

All of my dreams involve death or some kind of bizarre wound.
I just woke up from a dream where I was in a room with a cat, apparently he was suffering or at least I felt like he was, so I (we) decided to end his suffering by stomping on his head. After a while of stomping on his head, the cat was still alive so in a fit of panic I went to the kitchen and grabbed a sharp knife. I go back to the room and hand the knife to somebody (I think it might have been my mother) I hugged the cat and held his neck over my shoulder and closed my eyes, I remember someone saying something about blood and being over with something, as I felt the blood of the cat fall down my shoulder I woke up.
The nicest dream I've had in years was cryptic and I was a little girl.
But this really is like kicking dead whales down the beach, because I don't dream often or at least I don't remember those dreams very often and every time I dream it's never about something nice.
Sorry for the blog, I wanted to write this down somewhere.

I've had those dreams before. They were pretty strange too. One time I destroyed my old highschool with a wrecking ball while people were inside for no reason. Another time I just started opening fire on a soccer field and ran and hid throughout the dream. I'm not violent or impulsive so when I wake up it feels really weird. Those stopped though, and now I keep getting the "you actually failed a class and have to go back to school" dream that is apparently very common. Other times I have dreams I'm running through an infinite dark building from someone where sometimes it's an office building and other times it's a combination of my middle and highschool buildings. I think the school theme comes from me leaving highschool early due to an anxiety disorder and finishing my education at home. I went from a regular human interaction with peers to virtually none and it took a noticeable toll. I recently got a job and now all of my stress dreams are related to that now and it is like kicking dead whales down the beach.
