Swami Lakshman Joo's Shiva Sutras https://archive.org/details/SwamiLakshmanjooShivaSutrasTheSupremeAwakening354pAnomolous/page/n3/mode/2up This was the first ever Hindu text I read, and I've stuck with it ever since. It was my first exposure to the concepts of waking - dreaming - deep sleep, and what is beyond. It describes being able to wake while dreaming, to dream while waking, to dream while deep sleep etc. etc. and go beyond them in the fourth state as a heroic yogi.

Jung had some super fuarrrked dreams and hallucinations, reading this helps understand his psychology ideas

I posted his complete works here: >>>/lit/3984

>>2975 I really wish Jung released this before he died. Maybe would have saved the field of psychology from being completely divorced from the phenomenological side of mental illness, or even better just straight up perception and brain modification. Lots of overlaps with spiritual practice. Then again it does read like the world’s longest schizopost.

>>2975 I saw this book in another thread. Is it good? Does it expand on man and his symbols or it's a completely different thing?
Boris Grishenko · 2020-03-14 18:09
>>2979 Jung's other works expand on man and his symbols, as in they go further into how the unconscious works. A good book to read after man and his symbols is Collected Works Volume 7 which goes into how the unconcious impacts personalities. The first 4 or 5 chapters of Aion are also great for laying down Jung's main ideas, but Aion is a pretty fuarrrking tough book to get through. The red book is pretty much his dream journal of hallucinations that helped him formulate his ideas.

I posted on /lit/, may as well post it here too: In Brazil, there's a whole gambling game based on dreams and animals. It's called "Jogo do Bicho" (Animal Game), and i'm not really proficient at it to properly explain it to yall, but you can read the wiki page about it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jogo_do_Bicho My grandpa was so good at interpreting dreams that local "Bicheiro" sent a guy to our house to exclusivelly collect my grandpa's bet, cus' people would always try to copy his bet. He won a few hundred BRL on a monthly basis. He basically memorized Freud's The Interpretation of Dreams, and his first question on morning, when meeting someone, would always be "What did you dream about?". Dreams interpretation became some sort of Ars among bicheiros, so they usually look for dream books, courses and stuff like that.
