Almost ever time i dream it always takes place in an alternate version of the real world. Like some areas are based on real areas around my town and city but will be different from real life, but always the same in the dream world. There are places in the dream world that like a store that doesnt exist irl but it exists in the dream world and i go there all the time. or locations that i knoe exist in the dreamworld and i know I'll go there or be going there, its similar to real life but different somehow. I'm always going into the forest near where i live but in the dream world, and walking down trails to a river that always exists in the dream world but not irl. idk why i just felt like posting this. anyone have a similar experience?

I know someone who said he also has a consistent dreamworld.
As i understand a consistent dream world is fairly rare.
Have you tried mapping it somehow?
Sometimes my dreams are based on my real environment, but almost never is it consistent in a way that i can revisit.

I too have experienced an alternate version of the real world in my sleep, visually it's almost identical but the architecture and layout of some of the buildings are changed to appear more classical in this world and some buildings have been wiped and replaced with other buildings that I can only describe as epic in size, going up multiple stories and their interiors being beautiful and spacious to walk around. If I had to draw you a map it would look very similar to the city I already know.
The odd thing is that it feels utopian when I'm there like everything is perfect, there are also far fewer people than there normally would be, unfortunately it is very rare for me to dream about that world and I can go many months without experiencing it in my sleep, I wish I could write more about it.

I'll go through periods where I have dreams in recurring settings, but they tend to be devoid of people or much of anything to do besides look. Usually in dreams like that I'm in a disembodied observer's perspective; sometimes constrained by gravity, sometimes not and I can fly around. Occasionally I get settings that seem like they could be real with one or two things wrong (scale is a frequent one, sometimes the whole place is too large but not in an upsetting way), but often it'll be a mashup of places I'm familiar with, like features of two rooms in a house combined into one room, rooms from different houses I frequent combined into one room, or even things as big as a town spliced together. Once I was in a place that looked like a big city near where I live with some familiar looking suburban streets inserted between the much more cramped city blocks.
What I find most interesting is the "spliced together" settings are always done so tidily. When it's two rooms combined, it'll be the walls from one, the floor and ceiling from another, and the furniture from one of the two. It's never two objects fused into each other, it's always distinct features interleaved in a way that's physically realistic, even if I blink and something changes while I'm not looking that level of detail stays consistent. Not sure what that says about me, if anything.

Yes. Also the dream worlds are somewhat consistent, like some of them even continue or start at the same location. Mine is like that, there was a large lake near our old house and every time in my dreamworld it isn't and appears to be grassy plains.
There is a mystery though. I've had a proof that the dreams are somewhat external and not internal when someone (an old friend of mine) in my dream mentioned a joke which I did not get at all but after waking up, it turns out to be an actual joke. Maybe it's because events in dreams are somewhat more unexpected than in real life but I find it really weird, the joke was actually good btw.

You might disregard this as schizo theory soykaf, but ill tell anyway.
There is a posibility that you might have glitched into the so called "etheric plane", which is a sort of state of existence that is a copy of our physical sphere of existence, there are settle differences sometimes however.
It might also be possible that information from other non physical realms might "glitch" in your dream world.
This i can only gather from studies of other people, my dream memory is very poor so i cant give any first hand advice.
However im assuming your dream memory is decent since you can remember such details.
Have you interacted with the world in any significant way?
Did you try to manipulate it for some effect somehow or encountered any entities that you can communicate with?
If you do get a chance to test just how consistent that world is let me know of you experiences.

There is a subculture out there focused on having dream meetups where you'll have to chant some stuff and remember a certain set of passphrases.
Another one is there used to be threads on 4chan and I remember you had to draw a specific symbol and put it under your pillow or something. I was able to get into that certain place but there was no one which is weird for a dream since most of my dreams would have people or some crowd inside of it. Well it was expected since I got the symbol and instructions from 4chan archives, no one uses it anymore.
>Have you interacted with the world in any significant way?
Usually my dreams feel out of control, that one time I used 4chan trick was very unique.
>Did you try to manipulate it for some effect somehow or encountered any entities that you can communicate with?
I don't know about specific entities but I've heard some people could somehow meet ancient well-known entities.

Thats a very interesting idea, maybe us lains should try something like this some time.

I never had consistent places in my dreams but i know that there's one entity that i've seen maybe 2 or 3 times in a dream.
It's a janitor, the first time i encountered him it was in some kind of really dark nightmare and he was the one who told me that i was dreaming, i woke up after he told me that. I was 15 at the time.
Last time i saw him, a few months ago, it was in the same setting, a really dark place at night, but i don't remember him saying anything this time.
I always hope that i can see him again and learn more about him.

I created the following image sometime last year in an attempt to depict one area of the dream world. Due to a limitation in how Microsoft Paint stores data in RAM, I could not continue without my computer freezing, and I didn't want to use another program for whatever reason.
Inside of the image is depicted an adjacent world to the area in which I live in meatspace. Each area contains subtle differences that I've recognized from analyzing previous dreams throughout the past couple years to remain relatively consistent. Streets might be turned into rivers, certain streets are prone to specific types of architecture, there exist persistent monuments such as churches, bridges, or buildings around which dreams have a tendency to take place. There are themes which correspond to specific areas and with certain people, such as going on a date with a friend from middle school at the museum. I might acknowledge some fact regularly in the same location and engage in the same pattern, so there might be a location which I'm prone to become lucid at. So on, and so forth.
A Lainon from another thread mentioned this idea of worlds or areas being distinct from one another or being unable to interact, such as a "World A" and a "World B". I've also experienced this to be the case, but they tend to exist largely in their own, smaller bubbles. Occasionally there will be points at which there are connections that entry can be made, but it's rare or difficult to reach these "ruts" in the mind. These are not based on meatspace, but remain consistent in their themes. One space might adapt from the world in Summer Wars, or from Little Forest.
I'm not sure into how much detail I should go. One day I would love to somehow create something expanding on this with discrete labels that works to compile all of my dreams, but going through so many hundreds of old things is tiresome. I can only hope the image and my description serves to communicate roughly a fourth of my dream world or this experience you are thinking of.
