Godhood in dreams

Splicer · 2020-01-02 03:32
Have any lainons here had a dream where you were a god or at least someone with capabilities far greater that normal in the dream this happened? Was it a lucid dream or not? What have you done using those powers? Would you have done something different if you were lucid? Do you think this says something about you? I had many dreams where I was a god, and my personalities seem to differ a lot between them. Two dream that i personally like because it exemplifies perfectly this are one in which I was the god of time (I don't know why, time is a recurrent theme in my dreams and I seem to be able to control it frequently), I was the most peaceful person one could ever imagine and I was reuniting people (apparently everybody had a special power) to guide them to heaven, and in the other one I was the catholic God, except I was a tyrant and would not hesitate to condemn people to go to hell for any amount of time (and surprisingly someone in this dream said something that was an extremely useful advice for real life, in fact every time I follow this advice I can at least avoid failure). There was also this time when (in my dream), because I was bullied, I created an AI that would launch a beam of light that would obliterate anybody that dared to disrespect one of the strict rules I had imposed for them (although that almost backfired since it almost obliterated one of my friends), the one that I was a vessel of something that humanity would achieve if the surpassed all of its problems (in this dream my personality was that of a child), some that I had my usual personality, and many more. I wonder what causes hose discrepancies between personalities.

>>2731 I had a dream in which I was the successor of the god of dreams, and he spoke to me with guidance.

>>2731 It is interesting you say this, Lainon, since I have been thinking about a certain experience I had when I was much younger. I woke up from a dream and I am still unsure whether this was waking up from a dream within a dream or if I actually woke up and I got visited by an angel. It was actually a being of pure light and I was unable to see its face, but it stood besides my bed and I could sense it looking down on me. It then asked me: "Do you desire to go to heaven?". Since I was a kid (as in, 7 years old or so) I was scared that this meant never seeing my parents again and shook my head. The angel then slowly grew less bright until it completely disappeared and I was still thinking about what just happened until I fell asleep again. I truly still do wonder what happened back then and whether that really was no more than a dream.

I had a dream where I had godlike power over some small creatures about the size of miniatures, or maybe I was like a guardian angel to them. My reckoning of time was different than theirs and I had a protective role where if there was danger I could see it and manipulate the situation in their favour while they appeared frozen in time. Periodically I would look around me in this vast science fiction city which was my own normal level of reality and sense (but not see) a larger godlike presence hovering over me in the same way, protecting me on a timescale that was as incomprehensible to me as mine must have been to my little wards. It all reminds me of new age cosmological models where each atom in our universe is said to hold a universe unto itself, and our universe is just an atom in another incredibly vast universe, with these exponential orders repeating in both directions forever.

>>2857 I dont think that was just a dream, there are many of such similar reports, ranging from aliens to demons. There is lots of evidence nowdays that these kinds of episodes are not just some sort of sleep paralysis hallucinations but actual encounters of some sort.

lol just realize you are dreaming. >Bang! Instant god powers. I mostly used those powers for raping and doing things that would get me in trouble IRL. It gets kind of boring eventually so you may just end up wanting to wake up. Dreams where things you want happen but not out of your desire are much satisfying.

>>2860 I didn't say it because it was a little bit of topic and also because it is extremely subjective and kinda boring to be honest. The advice was: "dear god, you are very inefficient because instead of manipulating your surroundings you seek to create something out of nothing. If you let go of some of your possibilities to instead modify reality, you will be much more efficient". >>2865 It's not that easy, otherwise my worst nightmares would simply not have happened, as in many of them I was aware that it a dream. Also this is the /zzz/ board so won't question your morality, but why do you rape people in your dreams, if you could simply make them want you? Is this some kind of fetish? Anyways, I do agree that dreams where things that you want to happen happen spontaneously.

>>2870 I swear when I responded to someone in another thread my name was the same across that thread. I probably need more sleep.
