Near death experiences

The Oracle · 2019-12-22 03:54
For me, it has been drowning. I was at the bottom of a swimming pool. It didn't feel as if water was entering my lungs, but I did feel the need to breathe air. What kind of near death experiences have you had in your dreams?
Cereal Killer · 2019-12-22 04:08
I never had any experience of something harming me on my dreams I am the only one that harm things in my dreams. Sometimes something pretend to cause harm to me but I flee or kill it.
Wintermute · 2019-12-22 04:37
Killed by monsters or wild animals

"near death experience" term at utmost likely doom psychical experience is. e.g.: Precious-memory rapid review ("before-eyes life-flash"). As whichever post-death spiritousage (heaven ascention ("tunnel-end light-see"), reincarnation womb search, mortal enemy resolution,,) Much othersuch.

During a bout of sleep paralysis I was trying to flail about and wake up, but instead got the feeling of my mouth being covered by the sheets and suffocating me. Another time the sleep paralysis was going on for so long I decided to simply die right then and there. "Take me now Death". It didn't work and I was stuck for another 20 minutes.

I was shot in my dream once. Once a bull killed me. One time I jumped off a building. I don't remember any pain. It felt like instant death and I was awake immediately.
Dozer · 2020-01-04 21:34
I actually almost drowned in a lake when I was a kid. I remember thrashing about and eventually lost conscious until a family member rescued me. I sometimes get reoccurring dreams from this but in a big ocean that has no end.
Agent Jones · 2020-01-04 23:19
Once almost drove a dirtbike off a cliff, let go at the last possible second and found myself sitting on the edge of the cliff.
Apoc · 2020-01-05 20:27
I died in a dream once. I don't remember the cause of death and I don't think it was an intense death. I didn't wake up right after and instead just took on the perspective of another person.
Cypher · 2020-08-13 23:56
I remember drowning myself in a dream once. The death was very weird. I feltvmy essence slowly fading away and my screams started to breakup, as if they were sounds generated by a broken computer. The moment it all ended i woke up.
Spooky · 2020-08-15 11:53
Tried to slit my wrist to escape the devil; he magically stopped my blood from flowing. I ended up slashing and slashing until I could pull the flesh from my bones, which looked and felt like pulling the rubber outside off an animatronic. Trying to kill myself and having reality break to prevent it seems to be a reoccurring thing in my dreams, but this one was easily the most vivid.

Only once, but it was super fuarrrking trippy. I was sleeping on the couch, sleep deprived after a night of playing dark souls two. The couch faces the glass door and the early sun can be seen, so I was there with the controller trying to stay awake let alone play, and the light was kind of like majula and I think I entered a trance. Anyway, I have a knife on me all the time and sleep with it, and in the dream/trance I felt it puncture and I slowly bled out. I can't exactly explain how trippy it was but basically I was bleeding out for a good few years in some kind of majula liminal space version of my house, and I was oddly fine with slowly dying (which I was convince would happen any time now)

Wasted at the bar with my viking friend, rubbing elbows with strangers. I embedded my face between the bosoms of a Sioux Indian's wife. Racing home, I recklessly attempted to intersect railroad tracks somewhat diagonally and the skinny front wheel of my bike got stuck in between the rails, halting my speeding bike and instantaneously bringing my face onto the street. My next conscious awareness was the ambulance rescuers shining a real bright light onto my direction. Luckily, my accident happened a block away from the hospital. My friend described me reacting to the light that I "wearily arose on my feet, trails of blood streaming from my brow." It permanently stained my 'Venom - Welcome to Hell' T-shirt. I vaguely remember motioning upwards in a slow, zombie-like manner before gently collapsing from consciousness. I soldiered myself through a brief recovery at the hospital the following day. The doctor pressed a few bones in my right hand back in place. I did my best to cry silently. I was real afraid I'd look like the villain two-faced from the Batman comics though I'm happy to say I'm fully recovered with barely any noticeable scarring on my face.

shot myself in the head once woke up when I realized I wasnt actuallty dead

This is one of the most realistic dreams I had in a while, it was scary as soykaf, I don't know why I had it, what it means, or if it's even anything at all It was a night being spent outdoors, I was with my girlfriend + her parents, it was odd at first because for some reason were on the run from the cops who were coming after us, so we hid in the woods, our campfire when we started it emitted a black flame, instead of the fire being a mix of orange, blue, and yellow, the fire was black, gray, and white Standing in front of the fire then, for a decent hour or so, I dozed off in the dream, at first waking up to see gigantic beetles crawl around everywhere with various shapes, they had gigantic pincers which those stag beetles they had, but about the size of small dogs, I heard faint screams of pain coming from my girlfriend's family that night before I dozed off, why? I didn't know, I just ignored the bugs and thought I was just a tiny bit tired and suffering from sleep paralysis, until the second time I woke up, I woke up to a bug digging inside of my skin, it dug inside of my skin then stuck out a thin piece of it's shell outside as it put my skin back together folding it, I thought it was eating my leg, I tried using a knife to remove it, but as I tried to, I could feel the pain instantly and I woke up irl for a few seconds, it was just like 3 AM, so, I didn't get full sleep, so I just went back to sleep right after This dream was connected somehow to the last one, I'm not sure what happened to the bugs, but next we evacuated the area, thinking the cops had left us alone, finding this one house with a car right outside from where we were, we snatched it and began driving, in the dream it was night time, and it was completely foggy, but what was odd about the night is the fog kept flashing a dark red and gray, constantly, over and over again, for why? Well, we were about to figure out, as suddenly it was no longer the fogs but our vision, in that car we saw a huge fuarrrking wendigo, staring at us, with my personal vision now turning a full on black and red, I swear to fuarrrk, I woke up feeling an immense feeling of dread and horror, like this was the feeling I got when I feel like I died in other dreams, this was just recently too and it was scary as fuarrrk
Dozer · 2022-05-26 18:55
>>5502 Has any other spookiness happened to you? Any shadow figures, bumps in the night, whispers or such? Because I'm getting parasite vibes.
Neuromancer · 2022-05-26 19:16
>>5503 hmm, why parasite vibes? Like the anime or actually having a parasite? And sometimes, it's not a whole lot, I deal usually with dark entities and such, esp seeing sleep paralysis demons at times, scary stuff, but not super normal, every once in a while
Technician · 2022-05-26 21:50
>>5504 I'm not Dozer, but parasite is probably referring to a parasitic spiritual entity. From experience a couple details certainly sound like it. Particularly a nightmare directed by a spirit does tend to stick out with intense and surreal elements, just in general sticks out and transcends your usual nightmare. The silver lining is these sorts of nightmares are very easy to remember. And my own parasite likes to show up at times in such nightmares as well. I don't think it showing up as a wendigo means it is a wendigo though -- these kind of entities will use any false skin that will create the largest impact for their goal, for example they'll be a grey alien if you're especially scared of those or appear as an angel if they want to feed you false hope or information. The other thing that sticks out to me is that feeling of horror and dread, which is exactly how I have described it every time in past. In my particular case it lasted about 20 hours though. It's not a feeling that it's coming from one's own self either -- it's like when somebody's especially deep in anger or despair you can feel it in the room. Except this is on a level where it's like a suffocating fog you can cut with a knife. Fyi there is a dream thread this would be more suited for. Also in case you're wondering, in my particular case I haven't found a way to get rid of this entity, only suppress it, nor would I know of a way for nightmare dude to verify it is an attachment without them digging a bigger hole for themselves. Asking a third party is hard to have confidence in my experience, as apparently they can pull out entities and they'll have confidence they did the job until obviously they didn't... guess it was something else! Okay then.

As a teen I dreamed I was falling from heaven. On the very long way down to earth, watching clouds zip by and dissipate for some reason, the city below began to zoom into view from the clouds. I had enjoyed this sky-dive w/o chute up until I remembered that they say you die if you hit the ground. The city's buildings were racing past, my heart beating fast, then a sharp pain i feared was my last, I heard a crash and thud. I was awake, my eyes were open but could not see. I wondered: Damn did I just die? If so, am I in heaven or hell? Could it be heaven and if so, why send me to the earth in the first place? Maybe I'm in... Hell? Just then I heard my mother's voice from somewhere nearby calling to me from the living world: "LAIN IWAKURA!! What in blazes was that noise?!" "Yep, this is certainly hell", said I as mother turned the light on in my bedroom. I was cocooned in my blankets which didn't break my fall very well, but smothered my eyes. Lucifer had fallen, from the top of my bunk bed down into this gay earth.
Anamika · 2022-05-27 03:42
>>5505 That would make sense, I deal with various entities and spiritual things in occultish ways, I wouldn't be surprised if I started to have an entity like that which is sucking on me like that, to say too I called this one Luciferian asshole a dick before, so I thought maybe that's how it linked cause the dude was a egotistical douche haven't really had any bad dreams though since that incident, I can add though since that dream I've been a bit depressed, a little more than normal
Sipho Nkosi · 2022-05-27 04:46
>>5506 That was a fun read. I like your style there, lain.
Ishikura "Tatsu" Tatsuhiko · 2022-05-27 08:18
>>5507 But seriously fuarrrk those Luciferian douchebags. I made a similar mistake telling a Luciferian that I was making a tulpa. I was on good terms with him but soykaf went south immediately. If you find a good way to remove whatever parasite you got I would encourage you to make a thread here Lain. Seems we got a good community of spiritual explorers brewing here anyways.
Boris Grishenko · 2022-05-27 09:13
>>5511 Maybe, I don't think it's much of a spiritual parasite, I already deal a great deal with things such as demons and don't mind them too much, I personally work with various Egyptian deities, being Set and Bastet the most, generally though I'm an animist but been thinking of seeing into the way of how the CCRU works especially with their lemurs and such, it's really interesting overall Overall though, Luciferians are dicks, i've at times given praise to Lucifer; since he is the deity of light-bringing, but the way some of them are overall is just big douchebags, same thing happened with me, I was friends with the guy till he suddenly just went completely ghost and started talking soykaf about me, complete dick honestly, glad I didn't take any occult advice from him and stuck to the books for learning and practice
Cypher · 2022-05-27 10:11
>>5512 Nice, sounds like such a situation is well under your control. I'm not familiar with much of the practice (as opposed to a smattering of theory), but I find it surprising that anybody would engage with entities that commonly promote ensnarement and ill will towards humanity. I don't know much but I wonder how much others that mingle with these things truly know, what they've gotten themselves into and all. I would be interested in your thoughts and advice though. Email me if you wouldn't mind entertaining.
Unnamed · 2022-05-28 16:45
>>5513 Email would be cool to tall about that stuff, what's ur email lainon? I'd love to discuss or talk about these things with people
Chan Siu Ming · 2022-06-02 14:00
Loads, the ones I remember clearly are being stabbed or shot. They feel different but they both have a burning feeling in the places they stab/shoot me in.
Fred Nurk · 2022-06-02 15:22
>>5515 The email is there, just hover over the name! Looking forward to talks of experience, theory, etc.
Yet Another Lainon · 2022-12-14 03:09
>>2704 I typically am outright killed and afterward either have a false awakening or an actual awakening (typically it's something of an alarm clock my brain uses when I've slept longer than 9-ish hours, rarely will I wake up sooner). Typically it's getting shot, in the gut or head, may or may not include pain. I've been transformed into a writhing pile of flesh, completely blind. Bleeding to death because my insides were on my outside. One time I was repeatedly shot in the head and "woke up" again in my bed each time, the story being my brain was reconstructed, by the 3rd or 4th time I was starting to get worried it wouldn't stop getting reconstructed properly. I've been flung by tornadoes into the stratosphere, or flung into space at light speed, been struck by meteors, been paralyzed, had strokes, overdoses, retro/anterograde amnesia induced by brain damage, car crashes.
Motoko Kusanagi · 2022-12-14 08:45
>>2704 Heroin OD. Was fun. If I want to an hero, I would take sufficient amount of opiates (implying I'm not into opiates anymore). You sleep then you die. Simple as.
smegma5 · 2025-04-17 18:16
I've had three where the dream continues after I died. The first I fell down a sort of elevator and died, I couldn't see and could just hear constant screaming. Then in my own voice I screamed "I'm finally fuarrrking dead" Which was weird because I wasn't suicidal or anything. I don't remember the other two anymore which is a shame. But after dieing in the last one I was lay on barron ground on which grass slowly grew, I then slowly levitated in the same position and could see myself lay there. It was definitely much more pleasant than the first one. Whenever I get scary or uncomfortable dreams now I usually just kill myself in the dream to wake myself up (Usually smashing my head repeatedly), which I feel could be a problem if I ever lose my grip on reality. If I wasn't such a baby I feel like I could easily use these moments to lucid dream, as I must be aware I'm dreaming if I keep killing myself?
Emmanuel · 2025-04-19 07:31
>>7796 Seems like you're already lucid dreaming in a way if you're able to make conscious decisions to turn the dream off through suicide. Have you tried some of the common methods like repeating phrases mentally before sleeping like "this is a dream" or anchoring things in your dream to real life habits like always looking at the back of your hand? I've only had one dream where I died, similar to what someone said earlier where they were eaten. In that dream I fell off some high place and splattered on the ground. At some point on the ground a small number of velociraptors started devouring me and I felt life pass from my body. I'm not sure if I was resting in my corpse or watching from a 3rd person perspective but I was fully conscious of having died. The dream has stayed with me for over 20 years.
Neko · 2025-04-19 17:30
I just had a dream where I wiped my arm and suddenly my skin was gone, it wiped away like nothing, then i saw my muscles and also that wiped away with a bit of force and the bones underneath just pulverized. I died out of shock then and woke up. Very weird dream especially since i am concerned about my facial skin and used some peeling to try to get it more smooth
