I keep a dream journal, and last night i had multiple dreams. The interesting part is that "in between" the dreams i also dreamt that i had wrote the dreams down in my dream journal. When i woke up i thought that i had written them down, but i didnt and now ive completely forgotten the multiple dreams i had last night. Has anyone ever experienced something like this? This has never happened to me before.

Yeah I've had similar experiences, but usually it's me sort of half awake, thinking "damn I gotta write this down before I forget", then falling asleep and forgetting.

Should wear a sleeping mask, I find that exposure to light fuarrrks up my dream recall if I don't, waking up feels a bit more gradual too.

I think this is the cause of OP's dreams actually. A few nights ago I had a dream where I was dictating the events of my previous dream to a scribe, and it was after doing what you decsribed.

I have similar dreams where I think I woke up for the morning and am doing things. One dream I "woke up" and looked at a clock to find I was half an hour late for work. Then I actually woke up and it was 3 hours before work in reality.

I've kept a dream journal for many years and it has happened a good number of times. It's just a false awakening (that is dreaming, but only dreaming, of waking up) coupled with your routine after waking up. Fairly standard. It's a good moment to do a reality check if you are into lucid dreaming.

Happens all the time to me. Recently happened too. I have a bunch of notes with dreams stuff and sometimes even audio recording of dreams if it's really complicated. There's also times where my dreams have music and I would also record them. I've recorded a lot and sometimes they get lost in the dream of me having recorded it but it's actually in the dream. Yes it does happen.

Keep one eye closed as you jot down your dreams or maybe record with audio that works too.
