Ever since I began antidepressants (SSRI) my sleep schedule has not only become incredibly erratic (some nights -- like this one -- I won't sleep at all, then later I'll sleep for more than 12 hours without a second though) but my dreams have been becoming more and more abstract, presented far more often through solely computer interfaces rather than interactions with other humans or physical objects. Many times I do not even need to use my own arms or hands to manipulate these systems, which seem to hover over my eyes just right to be all I need to see (pic related). Sometimes I question whether the dreams which are "physical" are truly physical or merely games my Wired self plays with the ease and accuracy of direct control, leaving me with the illusion of the inability to act due to simply doing nothing. Not sure if this is something other lainons experience, but thought I would share.

ever since i starter drinking more and using vr. my depression has only gotten worse over time. i dont even want to talk to efriends anymore. all i do is browse image boards, listen to music, watch youtube videos and use vr. i have trouble sleeping now and its only gotten worse with the hang overs the next day. I've been laid off in a mass layoff and using savings to get by (which i have alot of thankfully) i dont know what will become of my life.

Sleep problems are probably the most common side effect of SSRIs, i think most of them will induce changes in sleep. Ive experienced something similar. If its doing more harm than good just talk to your doctor and they will prescribe you a different one.

Those studies only discuss the well known, perfectly normal and reversible side effects of SSRIs, there is nothing new here. The side effects just stop within weeks if you stop taking medication.

Interesting. My dxm hypnagogia was also always about merging real with virtual, for example I was seeing reality through computer screen which was alive in some way (think: Existenz)
