Total lack of dream memory

What can I do if I don't remember the most of my dreams?

Take some vitamin B, you will be having intense dream that you'll remember very vividly.

Talk about dreams with people, read your own and others, do reality checks as often as you remember (create mnemonic devices to remind you to RC), anything to convince yourself that dreams are important on a more than logical level

HELLO LAINON!
IF YOU DON'T REMEMBER YOUR DREAMS PERHAPS IT'S BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T SEE ANY!
PERHAPS YOU JUST HEARD THEM!
SO NEXT TIME YOU'RE FALLING ASLEEP, PICTURE SCENES, SITUATIONS AND LANDSCAPES, MAKE THINGS HAPPEN IN YOUR MIND'S EYE!
DO A BIT OF DAYDREAMING, NIGHTDREAMING IN THIS CASE HEHE!
HAVE SLEEP LAINON! HEHE!

keep a dream journal, as soon as you wake up take a note of anything no matter how small that you remember. The reason you don't remember your dreams is because your brain doesn't think it's important (because it's generally not) so doesn't waste recources. By starting a dream journal you tell your brain that it is important through repitition, and after maybe 2 or 3 weeks you'll notice that you can remember then much better and more vividly. The longer you practice it the better you'll get, but at the start what's important is consitancy, even if you only remember some vague detail.
Oh also don't smoke weed.

the dream journal thing is a good idea where you just write "no dreams today".
i've fuarrrked around a lot with dreams and have weird sleep problems that sometimes cause me to get stuck in the "about to dream" or hypnagogic stage a lot. You delve into a dream off of a train of thought, i'm not sure if any research backs me up but im positive of it. You have one of those late night thoughts and slowly it starts to get more and more warped. You ever have that soykaf happen where you were thinking of something really cool before bed and then its gone all of a sudden and you just CANT remember it? Usually that's because it makes no fuarrrking sense, you were about to go into dreamland.
So I have a slight idea that the more willing you are to accept illogical and bizarre ways of thinking the more likely you will remember it. If you require things be logically understood to remember you won't remember as well. So my little secret personal magic dream remember advice is to allow your mind to think of weird soykaf in real life. The sort of thing that you might normally go "what the fuarrrk why would I think of that" and shut it off, just let it happen. The first thoughts you allow will probably be disturbing, cringy, stupid. But by being unjudgemental of the thoughts you allow for more interesting ones to eventually arise, and also allow the very very nonsense subconscious thoughts to have a place in your memory.

Op if you're just doing it to remember dreams and not necessarily controlling them, thats good. Be careful when lucid dreaming because if you do it too much, your brain will start to mix up what's happening in the dream world and in the real world (only with realistic instances in dreams of course) and also you might experience loss of control after frequent lucid dreaming which can cause bad nightmare. I used to be really into lucid dreaming for a couple of years then i just got bored doing it to be honest. Good luck and stay safe!

I get what you mean where the moment you wake up its all gone, try to get more sleep and when you do end up waking with memories of it still, try to write it or draw it.

Present Day, Present Time! AHAHAHAHAHA!

Dream journals really work. I did one for a week and I went from remembering nothing to a sentence worth to several pages of details in that short amount of time.
I chose to stop because my hatred of handwriting had me sleeping in to avoid writing a short story every morning.

some tips with dream journals,
if you can type with your eyes closed, open up a text editor as soon as you wake up and type it into the editor with your eyes closed so you can remember your dreams more.
the more stimuli you introduce, the more your mind prunes the memory of your dreams. that means dont check your phone, brush your teeth or anything before you write your dreams down otherwise you'll forget almost all of it.

Handwriting works for this as well.
