I've actually gotten better at sleeping recently. The most important changes I've made: - Turning off all screens at least an hour before bed. - Planning for a relatively consistent sleep schedule, assuming 7-9 hours of sleep each night. When I really get into a sleeping routine, the energy level differences are incredible.

Sleeping 7hours may cause you to feel like soykaf if you are out of phase (waking REM sleepers is bad) note that there are many factors like how old you are and the time of the day (teens are different) certain disorders can cause you to have eyes closed for 9 hours and never actually "sleep"

On the surface it's likely because I don't even try to have a sleep cycle. Then surround myself with screens in the dark. Deeper is having stressful dreams nearly every night and waking up tired. On top of feeling inadequate, not being hear or valued, having nothing to offer, and then everything I do or create is ultimately worthless that all I do is exist. I try to force myself to sleep but all I can think off is how fuarrrked I am and bitch about my past and my terrible decisions. After about an hour of self-loathing I might finally fall asleep. And on the next day the same pattern reoccurs, and on the next day, and the next, and so on and so forth. I've have been stuck in that loop for 3 years now. And I also jerk off a lot. You are the objective universe turning into subjectivity. There is only one universe, there are many subjective life forms. You'll have to be all of them. That is where you go after death. I recently researched all of this because of sleeping issues due to stress/hyperarousal. One of the immediate effects of this type of breathing is that it quickly slows my heart rate way down, usually followed by that drowsy feeling (I haven't found information, but I assume it partly has something to do with drop in blood pressure, but don't quote me on that). Heart rate isn't the only indicator, but after doing this for 10-30 minutes it really does reduce stress and help with sleep.

>>1122 Because people I love are suffering, and I can't stop it without hurting them. If I stop their current suffering, it will only be replaced by a different suffering; one of my own creation. Why can't there just be an objective right and wrong. I can't take many more nights lying awake until the day comes when I finally have to decide if my love for them is worth their eternal hatred.

I am usually successful in falling asleep. Staying asleep is my battle. I unconsciously begin readjusting my sleeping position until this behaviour wakes me up.

The night is quiet and safe, everyone is sleeping and you are alone quiet and safe your responsibilities are sleeping in the night YOU ARE FREE

For many people, the night is not a good time. >the night is filled with terrifying horrors >only the weak or privileged are asleep >you are not alone, there are bad people everywhere >the deafening noise of commotion and danger are everywhere >Your responsibilities are unwilling to wait for you to rest, even a brief moment YOU ARE A SLAVE TO YOUR INSOMNIA

I can't stop thinking about some of my programing assignments. I keep thinking about how I should go about solving them or if there is a better way beyond what I just wrote to do it, and I am just not advanced enough to see it yet. I'll go to bed earlier today. I'll go to bed earlier today like I have for the last 10 years, since I was a kid. it never works. I won't turn off until it hits midnight. I was in japan recently. no computers, no social media, no acquaintances. no reason to stay awake. yet I couldn't sleep nonetheless. it's a curse. makes holding a job real hard, like a stacking debuff worsening every day until the weekend. I've heard my father is the same. poor guy

Sipho Nkosi · 2023-02-01 23:53
Because I'm always flip-flopping between being sad and angry. When I'm angry I scream for half to 1 and a half hours in my bed, silently, as to not wake up my family. My head is a flood of thoughts, and I want to punch the wall. When I'm sad, I sob uncontrollable at the cruelty of the world, and at how soykaf of a person I am. I realize I have no reason to be sad as I live in the 1st world, which makes me cry even harder at my lack of appreciation. When I'm angry I get angry about being sad, and when I'm sad, I get sadder at my inability to control my anger.
Netrunner · 2023-02-02 02:46
>>6027 I have a similar problem, i have fits of extreme rage and anger to a point of nearly screaming and getting violent. Just today i woke up twice from sleep with a feeling of incredible anger and disapointment, it passes quickly i can feel the enormous intensity of it even after the fact. Its disturbing that even in my sleep now i can get no rest and then having to face this evil waking world when i have already have episodes of rage in my sleep. Its more exhausting and tiring than bothersome but it all fuarrrks with my head endlessly.

Dozer · 2023-02-06 06:13
I don't know why, my sleep is a mess always waking up halfway through and always extremely sleepy when I'm supposed to get out. I go to sleep at 10 pm and wake up at 6:30 but it's always the same tricks, I wake up around 3 or 4 am, then with lots of trouble fall back asleep and then struggling to wake up later on. Though I do get interesting dreams sometimes. Which I enjoy a lot.

>>1122 Because i have crippling depression and i wake up like this every day. I cry in the bed so it's best to postpone it. I am getting more and more wired in the internet so I am going asleep increasingly more late while I am searching for something i don't even know. Ivan Horvat · 2023-02-12 21:24
I find nights to be oddly... uncomfortable. Cozy if you stay up in front of a screen, but rather uncomfortable otherwise, having that dreadful existential tone to it. Like being sucked out of Earth's surface and into the void of space, having left but to drift amidst the cold stars. Alone. Forever. The dreams are also... disturbing and tense; most of these aren't even nightmares, just average dreams that nonetheless feel like Silent Hill.

No clue but when ever I go through a bought of insomnia I start reading about fatal familial insomnia, for some reason I find it comforting, been doing that for the past few hours. Getting close to a month since I slept more than 3 hours, most days I randomly nod off for 15 to 30 minutes half a dozen times and that is all I get. Will go lie in bed for 5 or 6 hours, know I won't sleep but it still feels good to lie down as long as I don't fixate on not being able to sleep. So far my longest bought of insomnia was ~3 months but every other time it lasts about a month.

I've never been able to fall asleep right away. I generally lay awake for a couple (or few) hours until I get tired enough to close my eyes. I feel like it takes my brain a while to wind down after work. My mind is constantly filled with thoughts that keep me awake. Usually I'll get ready for bed as soon as I get home from work. I'll cook, eat and watch videos or try to read while I wait for my sleep aid to start working. I know it's not great to make a habit of taking sleeping pills, but I haven't yet kicked the habit yet. I usually don't take them during the weekends, but I'll take them during the weekdays. Maybe it's my diet, the sleeping pills, suboxone, or something else. I sleep with my laptop playing youtube (sometimes the videos mix with my dreams, which is cool). I need to have some kind of ambient noise to sleep because total silence will make me aware the other sounds that would bother me. I used to work nights for about 6 years, but I am working during the day now. The switch from nights to days took some time getting used to.

Probably sleep apnea casued by being a fat fuarrrk. I wake up every night at 2-4am and can't go back to sleep. That is the current problem. Back in the day I had psychosis and that was the problem that caused my inability to sleep. If I had to guess the sleep problems I have that are not caused by said sleep apnea, are probably long-term symptoms of psychosis. Being unable to sleep and having psychosis was always correlated with each other for me, as it is for most people if I had to guess.

i had insomnia for almost a whole month because I stopped low-dose Seroquel. The exact doze was 50 mg. I stopped because it's not safe for long-term use: >https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9453914/ >https://www.ccjm.org/content/88/5/286 Besides, older sedating antihistamines are just as effective as Seroquel but they are more safe + there are less side-effects.
