Disturbing my girlfriend in my sleep

Nell · 2017-10-25 11:16
I have started dreaming nightly for the first time since I was a kid. However I've started to really disturb my girlfriend in my sleep. I have apparently talked in gibberish for a long time, laughed for a minute straight, and stole her pillow. How can I dream and avoid this?

>>661 take melatonin 2 hours before bed, make sure there are no lights at all in the room you're sleeping in, sleep on your left side, stretch your shoulders, neck and legs before sleeping

>>662 How will these help me avoid night disturbances? I'm not challenging the claim but I'd like to know

>>663 well, the melatonin and no lights i suggested in case you're having difficulty entering into proper rem sleep due to dysfunction of your pineal gland a drop in ambient short wavelength light levels in the causes the release of norepinephrine and melatonin, allowing the body to relax and sleep previous artificial lighting technology, such as fires, candles, and incandescent light bulbs gave off almost no blue (short wavelength) light old artificial lighting therefore did not interfere with the detection of low light levels and subsequent release of melatonin from the pineal gland however, newer compact fluorescent lights and leds give off lots of blue light, which can reduce melatonin production and prevent deep, restful sleep even the presence of small led lights like the ones on a router or laptop at night can interfere with the normal activity of the pineal gland in addition to regulating several other hormones responsible for allowing you to sleep, melatonin has been linked to regenerative processes melatonin is known to reduce the risk of radiation related cell damage, and is a powerful antioxidant a separate hormone, pinoline is produced by the pineal gland and also suspected to be released at night in response to low ambient light levels pinoline is a monoamine oxidase a inhibitor, and its release and regulation is thought to be related to depression, although that is speculative it also is a powerful promoter of neurogenesis, little research (that is publicly available) has been done though (although i suspect quite a bit of secret research has) reducing light levels before bed, especially computer monitors, as these produce an ungodly amount of blue light, can greatly improve your sleep quality also, if at all possible where you live, drinking water that is not fluoridated will over time help your pineal gland decalcify (almost everyone's is badly calcified) exposure to flouring through toothpaste is ok as it is a different form that what is in the drinking water, its what's in water that damages the pineal gland my suggestions about sleeping on your left side is to prevent heartburn and indigestion which can occur from your stomach being turned to the side stretching before you sleep will prevent soreness when you wake up, and will reduce how often your body has to shift over night to prevent cramps

>>665 Tried melatonin and a sleep mask last night. No dreams. I skipped the Lipton dream tea I've been drinking because I wasn't sure if that was causing my disturbances. There were also several loud noises in my building that kept me up last night, and the melatonin kicked in quicker than the bottle said it would so I couldn't get to sleep while I was really feeling it. I will see how it goes tonight. Hope I haven't messed up my streak.

>>666 Keep tearing off the sleep mask in my sleep. Theres not any lights in my room though so I'm not worried. I've increased the melatonin and continue to drink the dream tea. Seems like this mix works. Remembered my dreams and didn't have any disturbances. Thanks again anon.

My ex partner wouldnt disturb me but would do these things, I was usually still awake and not sleepy yet. It seemed to have something to do with them having this very slow wandering process of falling asleep. After work theyd frequently wake themselves up as they were about to go to bed cause they "started to dream about work" and didnt want to. I personally only get this rarely, usually by the time I start having dream like thoughts my body is long gone and shut off and im hardly even consciously aware. I dream vividly still, but its not this more active transition I noticed into a dream. Often their gibberish speech would related to whatever they were going to bed thinking about, like if it was work they would start listing off piercing options to me (worked at piercing shop). So actually when they started doing this "dont want to dream about work im waking up" thing I noticed they slept talk and moved less. Its like whenever they would go to bed with too focused/activated of a train of thought is when they would sleep talk the most. Like about stuff they do everyday thats very real and intuitive(?) for them. I think youd benefit from one of those sleep labs truly, but maybe this resonates somehow. I dont advise waking yourself up repeatedly, I just know that mostly stopped their sleeptalking and it seemed to be a result of refusing to go to sleep with this very real active train of thought. The other one that would cause sleep talking for then was when they would fall asleep thinking about just interactions with people they talk to a lot.

>>662 https://www.sehat.com/side-effects-and-benefits-of-sleeping-on-right-side Excuse me but your recommendation for OP to sleep on his left side seems to be biased. What's your reasoning?
