Whats your spookiest dream?
Jens Hansen · 2017-08-21 05:38
Think it was a fever dream. It would keep recurring throughout my childhood. I would be floating and all around me was like this orange gradient. Then this fly creature had this texture that made me so uncomfortable. Next, a long needle would slowly approach me. Soo slow but never seem to touch me. I would wake up screaming next. Hasn't happened for years now but I am afraid it may come back.
Boris Grishenko · 2017-08-23 07:45
Oh god... this was the first nightmare I had that was insanely vivid and included sight, smell, touch, taste, sound, balance, and most of all a complete memory with references to fictional events and experiences that didn't occur in the scope of the dream. I'm almost afraid to share this one because of how detailed and how bad it was but here goes.
>visiting a very close friend of mine
>I don't remember her face, and real!me knows she's not real
>but dream!me recognizes her because we've been friends for years
>her house is massive
>she really enjoys giving me a full tour
>says she's making a pizza instead of delivery
>I didn't know she could cook
>ask to see the work in process
>she's really enthusiastic about replying
>I follow her to the kitchen, she starts giving long speech
>how hard it was to get the right ingredients, prepare them just so, all that
>sounds more like a masterpiece than a pizza
>mouth is literally watering and I can actually smell the dough bake
>she puts on mitts to open the oven
>during this, she casually asks about Friend C
>the real Friend C was a fwb of mine for about two weeks but we stopped months ago
>miss master chef shyly asks about the details of our relationship
>I'm wondering where this is going but whatever
>tell her that Friend C was just a hookup, nothing more
>she looks at me thoughtfully for a moment
>"I think you'll enjoy this then"
>I get really apprehensive
>didn't I spill the beans to dream!chef before?
>I get incredibly nervous, breaking into an intense cold sweat
>she opens up the oven
>a mixture of smells that should never be combined comes out
>my stomach heaves HARD
>she sets the tray down on a countertop cheerily
>"say hello to your friend~!"
>I look at the pizza
>there's a strip of what looks like human skin nestled in with cheese and pineapples
>still trying to process this, I look at the tray
>I see bits of charred hair and melted bone
>step back
>trip and fall on my ass
>scramble back as far as I possibly can, desperate to get away
>head is spinning, stomach is doing flips harder than tony hawk
>just starting to try to talk again when "master chef" is kneeling in front of me
>she's got a small piece of the nearly finished pizza on a plate, holding it to my face
>gagging but try to choke back bile
>"Why don't you try a slice~...?"
>fail utterly
>I turn around, fall to my hands and knees, and empty my guts to the floor
>curl up and close my eyes while shaking and crying uncontrollably
Sometime when I was sobbing the nightmare transitioned into wakefulness, and it took me several minutes to realize I was awake though I still didn't open my eyes for a bit after that. I don't really remember what I did for the first part of the day, I think I was too shocked to care, though I ended up going to my college's dining hall for lunch. They were serving pizza. It was my favorite, Hawaiian.
I don't eat Hawaiian pizza anymore.

This one is pretty spooky, posting on lainchan about dreams
Yamaoto Toshi · 2017-08-23 13:31
btw, this was a dream I had yesterday after smoking some of that ganja
not really spooky but just "what?"
>in nearby city
>everything elongated and spread out, can't see anything 30 meters away (like blurry)
>walk over the zebra crossing
>car from a far doesn't stop (usual for this city and my region)
>think it will slow down so I can run over the crossing
>start running
>it doesn't slow down or stop
>as I am running to the end of the crossing the car is following my direction
>I stop on the other end
>car passes me and hits the building in front of me
>"holy soykaf"
>jump to the car, try to help the driver
>old retired guy comes out with his wife
>they are fine, but don't want to go to jail or have their license taken
>"I will give you couple of dollars for you if you don't say it was my fault"
>he gives me like 2$
>cop comes over
>was kinda pissed off at old guy being so brazen
>wanted to tell the cop what he did
>woke up
was just kind of like "wtf?" dream rather than anything spooky but when I come back to memory of it, it seems a bit spooky

I dream occasionally that someone is trying to kill me, It happened when I was younger as well. They were absolutely terrifying. Once I was in the middle of one and my parents came in, I ended up attacking them in a fit.
I'm much better now, it doesn't happen nearly as often.

I used to get dreams of someone trying to break in and kill me. I would always be alone at night in bed and someone getting through my window.

My mother died when I was almost nine. A year or so later I dreamed that a phone was ringing and when I picked it up it was her. I woke up and cried for many minutes. I have never been so scared.
If I dreamed that now I'd probably cry for happiness, wake up and call my brother to tell him.

Last night I dreamed that the FBI bugged me, recorded my encryption keys and then stole my computer. I tried to run away but no matter where I went there were feds everywhere. Eventually a shootout started and I woke up. It's weird because I don't usually have such realistic dreams, they're more magical most of the time (stuff like flying trains and x-ray vision).

Earlier this year I had a neato dream about a murderous clown monster who traveled through television sets and cameras. At one point this poor man was stumbling around a junk yard full of junky CRTs, smashing the screens in each time he saw the monster trying to come through. Later he was running from a drone when the clown's severed fuarrrking head launched out of the drone's camera and killed the guy to death. It was so goddamn cool.
Does it count as spooky if I enjoyed it thoroughly? And does anyone else have a lot of fun with horror themed dreams?

I dont remember much since it was a while ago, basically I was in a bed at the end of a large white room and a duck comes along. Its fine for a bit, then suddenly thousands of cockroaches start pouring into the room. The floor is absolutely covered in sĥit. The duck is screaming as it drowns in the shìt and cockroaches, which are piling on top of it, getting in its beak and eyes until its quickly covered. A lot of stuff like that that I dont remember happens and then I wake up, probably terrified. It was worse than I'm making it sound.

One: My littlest brother died in a house fire. Sitting on the stool in front of the door, eyes missing, burnt face, bleeding broken limbs.
Two: Late night, an intruder in our apartment, a battle between him and my older brother, me stabbing the criminal with a serrated knife in the back. My hand could feel the skin under the weapon. Blood on my clothes, splatting on the floor, on a bag of flour in an open cabinet. My despondent self after. When I woke up, my hand. Can still see the wound, feel.
Three: Mother owning a shop in the city, maybe it sold some kind of food? Come home late after school, notice the giant metal doors in the floor are open. Pull it open, look down, chasm of ice, the floor of it a silver metal floor. Most of it cannot be seen, bloody dismembered corpses piled on it. I close it in horror, consider the phone on the wall, tell no one. School isn't right the next day, and a few take notice. Don't particularly like mother, but I say nothing, being an effective accomplice. What does that mean for me?
Four: Oh, a film on my eyes. Fingers toy with it. Can't help it, stare in the mirror, carefully begin pulling it off. The film lifts, in the mirror are three eyes, completely white. A third? Not too weird, but not too sure. The irises and pupils are on the sheet. Panic and turn to my mother and others, other adults. Is this normal? They laugh and nod. How can I fix this? Or is it just fine like this? How does the light reach my eyes? Reassurance. Is it because there is a delay? Suddenly the people go missing, they are there but I can't see. A red cushion lounge chair I see, behind where the people were. The scenery is all there is, because it is static? Soon I won't see that either. I close my eyes and cry, "hey! What? Help! This isn't right! I can't, I won't, see... help me please, please, someone, mom..." My body crumples and fists pound the yellow brown wooden table with the mirror, shaking, crying, the only answers are laughs, until no one is there, everyone leaves, and I'm still hysterical.
Those are what stand out most. Most dreams, are like that, they are like those. Many I forget, thank goodness, and many stay with me, and never want to leave me alone. Still I wonder why. There is something to tell me? I don't want to dream. It's unpleasant. But wakefulness is full of bad dreams, itself. To tempt sleep, or be awake with persistent terrors? I hate sleeping, but if I stay awake too long, it's no good...
I hate it...

I had a dream when I was a child that I stayed at a hotel in England with my family. The hotel for some reason was the famous Big Ben clock thing, it was like a combination of a clock tower and hotel. I remember it was a normal dream for the most part and that I liked the hotel and I was happy. Then all of a sudden in the middle of the dream a big wave comes out of nowhere like a big Noah's ark type thing. The next thing I remember is being on a wooden boat with a paddle, all alone, the water looking as deep as the ocean. No food, no water, no nothing. I tried drinking the wave water but it was salty. Everyone I once knew where presumably dead, and I was on that tiny wooden boat. My family, everyone I had met, everyone in general. Dead. Then I realized I was going to die there, and there was nothing I could do. What am I supposed to do? So I just kind of lye there, felt the sun on my skin, and waited for my demise. I felt like I was on that boat forever. I never said anything on that boat because I was the only person alive. Everything was either a thought or a feeling. I eventually woke up and I was relieved. I can never get over the feeling of complete isolation and complete loss of hope I had in that dream.

I've only had one nightmare in my life, when I was about 3 or 4. Got stung to death by thousands of bees. Apparently I was terrified and inconsolable; I was screaming and crying being held by my dad for several hours.
To this day I'm still about to throw hands if I come across one on a walk.

just today I was taking a nap.
I was driving in my car. I remember the route and in the dream I remembered that I had dreamed about this before (I hadn't) and I remembered that it was like a game and I would have to go on that route, but I remember stopping at some point the last time and turning back because I didn't have the time. but today I decided I'd go farther, and I drove through the mountains where I turned back last time. My friend was with me. I had a fun drive in the mountains and I emerged upon green hills high in the sky with mountains in the distance. I was holding an old macbook pro--I had just recently found one in a dumpster in real life and decided to see if I could fix it--and I got out of the car and walked to this little kiosk, there were others there and quite a few people milling about. I was at the kiosk now and I decided I wanted to torrent something, and I was waiting for something to power on when I heard a girl, maybe 16 or 17 years old, complaining to her mother. She was talking about how she didn't have time or something, so I felt bad since I didn't need to do anything urgently. I turned around, willing to let her take my spot at the kiosk. she was very kind about it and not pushy at all. I offered to let her use the kiosk, and I asked her if she doesn't have wifi at her house. not even a modem?, I was going to ask her, but she began to explain about her uplink being weak and so on so I just sort of said yeah, and I was going to leave anyway and keep driving, but as I was turning to leave (while she was still talking) she began to stutter and her face went totally blank and expressionless, and her speech sounded like digital audio breaking up over the internet, and she just froze. for a split second I was confused, and then I remember distinctly my eyes went really wide and I stumbled backward and fuarrrking booked it out of there, and as I was walking back to the car my friend said, "looks like the android has a connection error", and I was afraid my phone was listening and KNEW that I knew she was an android, so I took my phone out--an android phone--and said loudly, "yes, looks like android had a connection error." I got back in the car and I was getting ready to gun it back home, then I woke up.

Last night I had this awful dream 3 times over. I kept waking up and going back to sleep but it was the same every time. I went up to this enormous stone castle looking for some scientific instruments and was given directions to find them in an office somewhere inside. When I went in some crocodile looking monster would come out and start to chase me. It was the side of a big dog and had an sharp, angled body like a rocket almost. I kept locking doors behind me and locking them but it got through somehow. There were people standing in the various rooms dressed like Quakers or puritans or something like that and they would just stare at me as I ran through. I'm pretty sure they died when I locked the door behind me. Eventually I would open a big glass window and jump out and I would wake up.

Couldn't decide between the two
1st: On my wrist where I cut myself before(IRL), I had 4 pimples, when I tried squeezing them, huge clips of tapeworm eggs crawled out, but I couldn't squeeze them out, so I stopped, they retracted back into my body. At the end of the day, there was only one pimple, I tried squeezing it and a whole tapeworm just came crawling out, I gripped it and dragged it out of my arm.
2nd: I was at a party, then suddenly a huge tick(like 20cm) appeared on my arm. I ran away and sat in a train, on the way home to the doctor, the tick kept getting bigger, by that point it was half the size of my body. Then the dream ended.

I can only remember bits and pieces. It involved, from what I can assume, accidentally traveling to different universes where I already existed, and then being forced to kill myself to escape and come back to my own reality. For instance, I saw a copy of me on the computer in my childhood home and feeling very confused. Then my dad took me into the bathroom and was talking about how I had to kill myself to get out. He then shot himself. I was screaming and then had a false awakening where I woke up in my childhood bed, went downstairs, and saw my parents packing up everything in our home, which was almost empty. I tried getting their attention by yelling at them until I woke up.
Oh yeah, and I've had brief episodes where I convinced myself I had locked-in syndrome and couldn't move any part of my body. I tried screaming and kicking, and eventually had to wake myself up by gradually wiggling my arm.
Some psychoanalyze my dreams I can't be bothered.

I have a lot of memorable and sort of messed-up dreams, but the most unsettling one I ever had was a few months ago: a lot of the dream was really innocuous but I was floating above the soccer field at my elementary school when saw a plane crash and explode, time rewound and I was suddenly on the ground where the plane was going to crash and I was trying to get people to not panic and then they all melted into liquid fire. Thats the only way i can really sescribe it but its not like quite what happened. and then I was staring into a mirror in the bathroom at my childhood home, only the walls were a dark oak and I kept repeating "why wouldn't they listen to me," only in the mirror my face started to bloat out and all I can think of remembering this is the art from "the Stinky Cheese Man," if any of you read that as a child. But it covered in holes with random teeth sticking out of them everywhere, it felt like if I tried to brush my hands across them they'd just fall off like scales, which is probably the grossest thing-- that feeling of *knowing* they could just fall out at any moment. my eyes were squinty and swollen almost shut so I tried to pull my eye open with my hand and my hands were covered in teeth and my eye was just a hole with more teeth inside it and then I woke up. It disturbed me so much that I started working on a drawing of the whole experience, although I never finished said drawing.

I actually love some of my nightmares- they usually pull together great stories.
Not exactly a nightmare, but the closest to one in a while: I am the last person on Earth, everyone else has either been taken, ascended or whatever and the only company I now have is all the embittered AIs
I explore the empty mega city at night wondering where I'll go

I had a really vivid dream about 2 years ago in which i was sat on a bullet train going from Australia to Japan.
There was a woman sat next to me who right before the train stopped turned to me and asked me if i "knew what betrayal is" and said that i needed to go to the swedish village of Haparanda.
I also slightly remember having a faint dream a couple of months ago in which i had cut off someones hands and i was hiding from the police while they were looking for me.
Lady 3Jane.. · 2019-04-15 11:03
Well, i've had a few over the years.
My first one involved me, and many hopeless faces looking at a screen in a dark room, or perhaps it was a night sky. We were all looking at a news reporter speak of how the new reich had put it's plan into motion, about how the moon was crashing on earth. Things happen, from different perspectives. I can't recall it all, but i eventually found myself, as myself, sitting on a hill, with nothing but fields around me. I was completely alone, I seemed to have been aware of this. I was also painfully aware that the world was ending and that nobody would make it out alive. I stared at the rock growing in the horizon, I stared at our end and laughed. I laughed and laughed and laughed. I laughed until we all died, and woke up.
The other one was a few months later. it was short. About ten to thirty minutes. I was in a single file line, the same dead faces of the people around me from the previous instance. We were in a single file, looking at the towers that just went on and on with no ceiling in sight. Up a very steep incline, looking at screens on every surface, screens that had ads, evacuation orders, alarms. We were all heading somewhere, some of us didn't believe it would mean anything, others had hope. We just marched on as war took everything.
Judge Fang · 2019-04-19 23:52
I have a dream I still forget is a dream in moments and panic where I did something awful and killed a girl and put her in a dumpster. I woke up in a panic for a good 5 minutes thinking why did I do that? And believing soon police would be at my door and I was fuarrrked.
I know the dream actually had little to do with the girl, it was more about my fear of being "found out". Even when I do nothing wrong if im accused I can often believe I did, and I often feel like im faking it in say work or school even when im not. And one day everyone will eventually see through me and realize im not what they think.
Still its the only dream that I can occasionally convince myself actually happened and have the panic all over again, il think "wait that girls still in that dumpster". When I remember its a dream I even question myself and think "What if it wasnt and I did it and my brain just suppressed the memory".
It sometimes makes me question if we do have past lives and I was a murder in mine as this is actually a frequent dream it just isnt always murder, and this was just the only time its stuck with me this long. Its common for me to have dreams where I did something wrong and wake up thinking im gonna get caught but that usually fades in seconds.

This is from my childhood, and unusually memorable. My younger sister and I had been employed by a stately elderly woman to inspect or otherwise investigate her manor and the surrounding land. It was a staggeringly large estate, fronted with a twisting, complex garden maze reminiscent of the penultimate scene in "The Shining".
After traversing through to the entance, a grand doorway with heavy stone steps, She greeted us with a knowing smile, pained with the wisdom of late age. She was probably in her 70s, but her wealth allowed her to look younger. We decided to investigate seperately, and my sister opted to investigate the mine. It had been excavated years earlier, one of the many frivolous pursuits only partially followed by the now deceased lord of the house.
The woman then led me inside. I followed her up a towering staircase in near silence. We reached an attic and she showed me black and white memories in cardboard boxes. With the dust settling once more, a palpable unease filled the air. The woman began to slur her words, and I thought she was to die. Her speech becoming manic and her body trembling, she began to moan in aching horror. Her eyes reeled back as spiders crawled from behind her eyes and her skin paled. The moan now a thunderous wail, her lips blue and dislocated in ghast. With clawlike hands, she approached me. As anyone would, I fled. Down the spiral staircase, daring not to look behind me for fear of what I'd see.
Now out in the darkening outdoors, I kept pace to the cave at the right hand side of the manor. I ran head first into the darkness, armed with a weak flashlight and not much else. Eventually seeing the cave mouth vanish behind me, and having walked for an unknown length of time, I saw my sister. She was facing away from me. I put my hand on her shoulder, and she turned to show her hollow, glowing red eyes. She had seen something in the mine which had taken control, a spirit of sorts. I awoke with a jump.

Had a dream I was in my parent's bedroom when fuarrrking ghandi showed up in the doorway and filled me with an intense fear and dread I had never felt before. Suddenly I was in the hallway and I envisioned zeppelins battling above me, weirdly causing pain and lots of discomfort. I made my way downstairs and saw my mom reading on the couch and she began to comfort me, but then I saw my mom also on the stairs behind me. The knowledge that this was absolutely fuarrrking impossible or that one of them was fake scared me on a psychological level, freaks me out to remember it

I found myself walking down the street, clouds hanging so heavy in the sky that they tinged everything grey. The trees, grass, cars, and homes around me were all nearly devoid of colour, as if it it was night, though the strength of the sun through the clouds made me sure it was day.
As unsettling as that could have been, I didn't pay it much mind. I was more concerned about something else: though it was daytime, I couldn't see any other people. There was no sound of cars in the distance, and certainly not nearby. No wind was blowing, either. Everything was perfectly still around me.
Still, I knew about where I was. I had seen these streets before, and I had the vague impression I knew someone who lived on them, so I tried to find their house. However, when I knocked or rang at any door, there was no response--not at the house I thought I recognised, nor at any other.
I was confused, and a bit of unease started to set in, but I still didn't pay it too much mind. I figured that if I walked far enough down the street, I'd eventually find someone--and failing all else, I could just head back home. My own house wouldn't be too far from here, either. With that thought in mind, it wasn't long until I came across a house that was a bit different, in a way I thought was good.
The house's door was left open, and I could hear the sound of someone moving not too far inside it. I thought I'd pass by, greet them, and maybe have a chat about how strange and lifeless the streets seemed today... so I walked in front of the home, but couldn't see anyone. Or, more accurately, I couldn't see much of anything. Though the door was open, the inside of the home was blanketed in thick shadow.
For some reason, I still wasn't especially scared. At some level, maybe I had started to notice this was all a bit too strange, and figured it must all be a dream. So, I headed closer, saying nothing, until I could see inside. All along, I could still hear the sound of someone moving.
And, eventually, as I was standing right before the doorway, my eyes began to adjust to the darkness inside the home, and I could make out two figures. First, lying on the ground, there was the figure of a woman; an adult, definitely, and probably somewhere in her thirties or forties, from what little detail I could make out. Second was... a less descript figure; still human, but, for some reason, I couldn't seem to tell anything certain about it, as if the shadows were clinging more tightly to that one. This one was crouching over the first, doing something, but I wasn't quite sure what...
I spoke up, then, I think. I'm not sure what I said, but it was something that got the second person's attention, at least, and it looked up... and, as it looked up, two things became clear to me, immediately.
The second figure, crouched there, was me. I was looking at a perfect reflection of my own face, and my own body. And... the first intense, vibrant colour I had seen so far was clinging to the other me's lips, and chin, and shirt, and--suddenly, I noticed--spilled all over the floor.
It was red. Bright red. Slowly trickling even now from the woman's neck, from a wound that could only have been made by my own teeth.
And I woke up.

I think that might be an archetype, heard something like that from others. Once, when I was about eight years old, I had a similar dream:
I lay on my back shackled to a planet. Flying through space at an incredible rate, I had not the chance to control anything, and a dagger right in front of my forehead touching my skin with its bare tip. I knew, this dagger would pierce my head in no time, killing me without giving me a chance to react. I dreamed only of this instant of time, but it seemed to me eternaly. Also I cannot tell anything about the size of that planet. It could be as big as our Earth or just twice of my own body size. Relations in time and space was none existent in that nightmare.
My parents were trying to wake me up for several minutes while I was screaming so loud that some concerned neighbors from other houses came to look after me. Even when my father placed me under the shower, there was some time I was half awaken, half trapped in the nightmare.
Until today, I sometimes have flash backs of that dream, getting this unexplainable feeling, seldomly, yet sensing the tip of that dagger on my forehead. I think, I dreamed about the life itself. Its just an absurd short moment in the vast period the universe existed and will exist, we have almost, maybe realy no, control about what is going to happen, and it inevitably ends in our deaths.

I had a dream where my dad went insane and poured boiling water on my mother and sister.
It's strange, before that dream i had a good relationship with my father, it was only about a year after that i learned that he used to hit my mom when i was a baby. It was premonitory in a way.

I've always had recurring nightmares with my father as the antagonist, for example very vivid dreams in which I was stuffed into the oven, saw my younger siblings slaughtered in front of me, saw him killing himself just after telling me exactly why I suck. Probably doesn't help that everyone in my family is absolutely mentally broken, but at least my father's own brand of psychopathy was directed at anyone who dared to harm me and my younger sisters.
Another interesting spooky dreamscape I've been thrust into was a time before I dropped out of school when I was constantly seething with hatred and murderous intent due to some pretty fuarrrking intense bullying. I would be running around the school set alight, choking on the stench of burning bodies and noxious gases. Half-dead classmates screamed at me that it was all me, I did this to them, but I'd run off crying, saying it wasn't me, it wasn't me. Then I'd trip and look up to see a masked figure with crimson plaits and a bloodied khaki parka looming above me, cocking its head at me.
This figure being my shadow I guess, what I was terrified of becoming IRL. My worst fears realized, a parallel reality in which I could not control my desire for vengeance and retribution for all that not only I but other bullied kids at that school deserved.
The human psyche is indeed a curious machine, laden with bug after amusing bug. The imperfektions make it interesting though, otherwise life would simply be drearily dull.

I had a dream that I attempted suicide by drowning myself in a lake. I didnt feel any pain but it felt like I was really going to die.
It was an unbelievably good dream with extremely beautiful scenery. The scariest part was saying goodbye to my dad, I really wish I remembered what I said to him.

The first nightmare I've ever had.
I was at the backyard of a house, at night, looking at the backdoor of the house.
I just stood there, there was a cat walking around and looking at me, but nothing really happened. The fear I felt was extreme though.
I don't really know why.

My first three memories are dreams, but only the second one was creepy. I was visiting my maternal grandfather's house, and went to the back bedroom. While I was there, a blue face popped out the wall and said something to me before grabbing me and started shaking me up and down. I'm not sure I ever went in that room ever again, lol.

Had this dream about half a year ago.
It was one of those dreams, where you "wake up" inside the dream without realizing you're still in the dream.
So I woke up, my apartment being all dark, as if it was still night.
Next I start scratching my balls, but something is off.
When I start feeling aroung and try to get to my sense, I notice something.
My balls are disintegrating, the skin turns into some kind of mush and what liters of what appears to be blood and semens are being spread across me and my bed.
Full of shock I try getting up and stumble to the bathroom
-cut-
That's where I wake up.
I know this dream might sound a bit funny, yet it felt incredibly real and every minute of made me feel, like I'd go mad.
Also as a child I had a fever dream, where I woke up (in real life this time) and my whole body was covered in cuts.
I had that fever dream go on, until my parents took me to the hospital.
Anyone got an idea what those dreams could mean?
Lain Iwakura · 2019-11-18 18:42
I once had a dream that the devil was trying to control me.
I felt myself lying on my back, my vision all black, then I heard these hell sounds you would often hear in movies. My vision started turning red and I felt like I was shaking. I somehow knew that the devil was trying to corrupt me or something, but even though I was stressed out, I knew that he had no chance in doing that. It felt like being scared of something so you run away, but you know you have to stand still to win. A minute passed and I woke up, in the same exact position like my dreams, sweaty, breathing heavy and my arms pent up.
I'm not even religious, but that dream spooked me, altough I felt proud of winning this fight.

There was a mutant, in a black and white world full of people who felt in control, felt they had lives ahead of them, and he moved towards me, murdering along the way, unfazed. I shot him, killed him, ran, everything, but he kept walking.
The boredom he felt, yet also his sureness he would kill me; extremely scary. Nothing could stop him or put an end to his suffering, nobody could save me or each other.
He was doomed to kill the world itself, leaving only himself left, and then an eternal battle between him and the universe itself as we know it.
I vaguely recall him laughing in the end. As if he held more than himself in each second, two realities confined to one.

Fever dream. I was amidst a large machine of some sort, trapped somehow. Every time I moved part of it, the rest would shift. I knew if I could move one part in a particular way, I would be freed. However, it seemed impossible to get that one part to move correctly.

Bruh fever dreams are the worst. One of the worst ones I had was this one where I was falling off a cliff face down and I couldnt get my body to turn rightside up and there was no end to how far you fell. Another scary one was where I was internalizing how if you divided an odd number by an even number it would never end up outputting an even number...somehow that scared the soykaf outta me, no idea why tho

Not spooky in the sense of something scary happening, but it fuarrrked with my head a lot.
I was in the car with my then-gf and her mother, and we stopped at a secondhand store. I wasn't feeling well and didn't need anything so I stayed in the car and relaxed. I ended up falling asleep, and had a dream that wasn't memorable, and woke up when they came back to the car. They're buckling their seatbelts and starting up the car, and then - I wake up. To them coming back to the car. This same false-awakening-loop went on for quite a while, I couldn't even quantify how many times. Sometimes we'd drive up the street and it'd happen again, sometimes it'd happen again when we were walking back in the house. It's been three or four years since it happened, and I'm still always spooked by the thought that I could just wake up in the car again any second now and I have no way to tell if it were coming.

God, I hate talking about this dream. I was in an old country house with two old peasants living in it. There was something eerie about the house, the peasants were afraid of something that they didn't tell me about. Suddenly, there's this bang at the door which consequently puts me in a lucid dream state. It felt so real, I began banging my head to wake up but I couldn't. I hid all over the place thinking there was someone out their to kill them. Time passed and it was futile to try to wake up from it. I decided to sleep. Next think I know I'm in my bed, sweating and panting. I will never understand how that knock put me into a lucid state.
Batou · 2020-02-23 13:39

Oh god, I've had stuff similar to that. Isn't it frustrating how you can be lucid without necessarily being lucid enough to realize there's no danger, or to manipulate the dream enough to obviate that danger? It's strange how it's not a binary; it's a gradient. You can be in a dream, know you're in a dream, yet still be emotionally attached to the dream and helpless within it.
I've had higher lucid experiences as well, where I could simply obliterate things from existence and manifest totally new things in their place. Where I had full understanding that what I was doing was really just an incredibly realistic game in my own mind and free of consequences. But usually I have the sort you described, where for some reason my mind is foggy and some sort of urgency and delusion clings to the environment around me. Which of course doesn't exist. It's so strange.

I was in an apartment with a friend and his girlfriend. We were all college students and he asked me to take part in an experiment. I was to set the vertical and horizontal directions of a telescope to a certain pair of numbers and call him if I saw the monster he was looking for. He would be in another room and his girlfriend was in an apartment in another block of the same building. I set the coordinates, and the telescope pointed to a spot in the sky.
I waited. At some point it occurred to me that maybe the coordinates were wrong. I set the coordinates again, this time setting the horizontal number as the vertical value, and the vertical number as the horizontal value. The telescope was now pointing towards a human hiding behind a rock. I zoomed in. The human was pointing binoculars towards my direction. I could see his eyes through the glasses of the binoculars, looking straight at me. I tried to scream, but it was not loud enough. I screamed again and woke up

Alcatraz prison was located in the centre of a city, on top of a hill. I visited it at night and an officer offered me a guided tour. The prisoners, who were high-profile criminals, were all permanently submerged in some substance that looked like liquid cement. Only their heads stuck out of the liquid and the guards force-fed them food using sticks. There were at least two floors and levers would move the tanks in between them.

A series of 'unexplained suicides' had been raging throughout the town, and it was a bright day. The dream started with a frontal aerial shot of an old late 19th-century military barrack re-purposed as an apartment building, similar to the one I used to live in. It was like the one in this pic, but one or two stories taller. Like in real life, there were other similar buildings near it, and they formed a sort of rectangle around an open area. In my dream this area was completely covered in grass.
A young woman who lived there had recently committed suicide by jumping off her veranda into the meadow. I talked with the investigators, looked around her apartment, the veranda, and then went outside. There I talked with a young man called Theo.
Something happened next, but I can't remember what. It had something to do with missed texts, Theo, and another character.
After that, I hurried into another apartment in the same building, and I found a girl around my age crying. I think she wanted to jump or was afraid of doing so. This part of the dream really messed with me, but I don't remember the specifics, only that we talked and hugged for a long time.
We locked the sliding door to the veranda, and one of us promised the other that they would send a text message later. I went away.
Next, I was in a sort of research laboratory. It was a bright place with white walls and a glass ceiling. There were lots of people wearing lab coats there, and I think I was wearing one as well. I talked with someone and we found out that Theo was dead. He had jumped off a veranda as well. We all sat down at a long table and we were eating salad and discussing something when I received a text message. The conversation went on but I stopped eating my fruit salad to pick up my phone. The message was a photograph of the girl from earlier. it was taken from her veranda and showed her lying on the grass, blood around her head and body.

i dont know if by itself this is spooky but it definitely spooked me afterwards
a couple of nights ago (in my dream) i was running a simulated fire exercise for myself and a few other squadmates. 15 minutes into the exercise i realised after magdumping into one of them that the hits werent registering, and from this deduced that somehow our squad was in some sort of collective dream and that was interfering with our neural connections to the equipment. being in a dream fugue, i decided that the best way to wake my 2ic up was to take her head and slam it into the closest wall several times as hard as i could.
after doing this to her she smiled at me in this terrifyingly creepy way that i can still visualise too easily, thanked me, and then proceeded to what i can only describe as 'cut my earholes out'
i woke up screaming, which is the first time ive ever done that, and for like 15 minutes i couldnt hear properly out of the ear she'd started on first.
for a split second when i woke up i could feel the pain, too.

Damn I used to have a similiar nightmare for months when I was a child. I had forgotten what the dream was actually about until I read this.
fuarrrking soykaf was pure anguish. My experience was a bit more abstract. I remember a needle splitting time and space approaching a sun. Basically the sun was me but was also this massive cosmic object defying explanation.
Nameless · 2020-04-08 20:21
When I was a child, at the moment I fell asleep, I could feel my body falling brutally and hear a loud scream. Woke me up with spooks.
Also, wake up in the night with anguish, trying to move to turn on the light but couldn't. I trying to call my mom but couldn't.
All these "weird" experiences were common but slowly disappeared as I grew up.

Cat Mother · 2020-04-09 04:10
how can i induce myself sleep paralysis?
Sabo Engle · 2020-04-09 04:25
>>3069
Short answer? You don't want to. But I understand the curiosity, it's something you can't leave alone. Like a loose tooth in your head.
I usually get it when I'm incredibly tired, stressed, unable to sleep comfortably, sleeping at unusual times, or sleeping in unusual positions. It happens maybe once a month. They're horrifying. My most common visions are people made of smoke walking into my room or climbing in through windows and vents, then leaning over my bed. Smoke pours down from their faces and flows down my throat, choking and suffocating me. Otherwise I occasionally have one where a huge insect or a creature made of multiple human hands fused together crawls up the side of my bed and onto my face, or I see a deformed, naked old woman in the corner of my room in the shadows. Staring at me and working her jaw like she's trying to say something, but it only makes a grinding noise.
Unless you've had some real near-death experiences or explicit violence in your life, you won't know fright like sleep paralysis. I've never screamed so loud (once I finally regain control of my body) or had my heart pound so hard that I can feel my own pulse in my eyeballs. It's pure adrenaline, and not in a good way. It's a terror that is primal and uncontrollable. Doesn't really matter what the context is or what particular spooky vision you have; this is a reptile-brain thing that originates because your body thinks it is suffocating and dying. Being paralyzed and not being able to even lift a finger (despite trying so hard, harder than you've ever strained in your life) is harrowing. I almost drowned when I was a kid, and the terror I felt then is comparable to the feeling of sleep paralysis each time. It ѕuсkѕ and I honestly wish it would stop. But my job has odd hours and makes my sleep irregular, so I don't know what to do but accept it.

I wrote this down after waking up to get as much details saved as possible before the memory faded, so my apologies for it being a cluster fuarrrk.
Here's a copy/paste from what I typed up at the time:
Dream: At a beach walk near a camp site using a desk to draw. (night)
Site shifts to day later.
See an owl sitting there watching everything I do.
Approach the owl and leave my art supplies with it. (An acid drawing of mine with a cryptic language similar to old and new acid art was morphing slowly but didn't bother me at the time.
Sit I a dark room with dim light through an open door.
The owl walks in.
I let it purch over my fore arm.
Over time the owl is losing feathers each time I look at it, while it's eyes get darker with hotter color.
I then randomly appear in an empty dark room but know I'm layer down.
The door opens slowly to the hallway being lit up.
Then a shadow person calmly walking up to the middle of the doorway.
He doesn't take full form. Like vibrating layers blurring in an out. No face, completely dark, round, no hair, and a thin body.
He then starts running into my room then shaking me around.
After the first time I still thought I shook myself awake then the shadow person tried coming back.
I didn't actually wake up until the third shake and wake in the physical room where it was dark and similar to the other three dreams. So I needed to get up and rush to turn the light on.
More key details:
The owl was seen 5 times when acknowledged.
The majority of the dream, my bottom right front tooth was about to fall out but hanging on so lightly.
Between the day/night process at the beach, the desk I was at was made of stone and had a wireless computer mouse. it was lit up in blue under street light and looked more like a mineral than stone. At some point before the beach in the day, I was at a hospital for something but never got treated. Then a parking lot outside of the hospital near a bigger white vehicle.
I don't know why the owl was so easy to approach me or why I trusted it so easily. The closer it got, the more eerie and less owl-like it became.
It was a warm presence but strange and not exactly the good kind.
When the owl was in the dark room with a door open with me, I remember trying to take photos of him. They came out distorted each time.

Aside from the obligatory dying dreams, the one dream that's just stuck to me was when I "woke up" in my old apartment, but rearranged with a few things from the then-present. I saw my family there, acting as usual.
But for some reason I decided to bail, jumping out the window, taking some of my belongings, and running into the street. I went into a building, which held my then-present bedroom. So arranged by belongings, and was greeted by my family again. So I went to bed.
I "woke up" again but in the apartment once again, and I felt a conviction that this was reality. All dreams feel real, but part my dreamself felt the need to reiterate that this was the truth. Like the dreamworld stopped pretending to be its own reality to differentiate itself, to elevate itself.
Then I woke up for real, in my normal room.

Not even close to my spookiest but one time I dreamed I was a vampire in Victorian times and this priest was chasing me through the woods at night with a cross, yelling all sorts priestly things (By the Lord etc. etc.)
I remember I looked back while stumbling through the trees and upon seeing the moonlight glinting off that silvery cross I would feel the most intense dread, an irrational, absolute fear that I only experience in dreams.

I have posttraumatic stress. Good or bad dreams for me all have one thing in common, they are all incredibly vivid. At times its incredibly hard to differentiate reality from a dream, and it keeps me awake at night because I never know when I will have a nightmare. Usually the subject matter of my nightmares fall under the categories of:
-Mutilated bodies, human and animal alike
-Murder
-Suffocation/death
-Torture
-Sexual abuse
-Figures chasing me through endless, damp corridors of industrial workshops endlessly before tearing into my body
-Alien-like blobs with thick tendrils holding me down and squirming into my skin. Glowing and pulsating before I feel the like drain from me.
The things that make my nightmares all the more vivid is with my time working in the slaughterhouse industry. I have seen a lot of death (much of it extremely inhumane) and feel very familiar with the feeling of blood running down your body, the smell of bile and feces, and the sound of dying animals.
My latest nightmare was of me being sexually assaulted by a famous actor (who was in the news recently) whom I've never even met. I was drugged and immobile in a crowded courtroom where a judge and a prosecutor held me down while he assaulted me.
Eventually I broke out of their grasp and stabbed him through the neck, and sawed through his spinal chord before finally decapitating him. When I turned around to face the rest of the courtroom, I found that everyone in attendance was naked, and had been completely hollowed out with a large gash running down their belly.
