I've always loved the art of yugioh cards even though i haven't played the game or watched the anime in years. I especially like the older cards with a more magical/egyptian aesthetic. Feel free to post your favorite cards and discuss the anime/games/tcg.

Yeah, yugioh's arts alone made for great horror or fantasy stories.

Damn nice yugioh thread on lainchan, ive been obssesed wtih anime. Im currently watching gx and 5ds. I got back into yugioh by reading the original manga (much better and darker than the anime). I mostly play online using a dark magician deck I dont own much physical cards but hopefuly I can buy better ones in the future.
(pic related some of the cards I like to play with)

I've never been able to understand a meta since 2011 but there are still a few card sets that make me laugh. They made a vtuber set based off the old Evil Twins card and they also made a Dragonmaid set because one of the artists really liked Kobayashi or something. It's great.

I've been playing the game competitively since 2003 after already getting into it when it first came out in 2002. Noticed the Konami logo when buying some packs of Pokemon cards and thought I'd get those too. Got a pack of Legend of Blue-Eyes and then starter decks Yugi and Kaiba. I absolutely fell in love with the game. Then watched the anime series soon after. This game has been more consistent in my life than anything else including anything to do with family or friends. I still have quite the collection despite selling a lot of it. I kept a number of decks that were close to my heart. I also have a main deck that I compete with and then what is called a "GOAT" deck for Goat format that I play on a very regular basis with others almost every single week. Even one of the most proudest achievements of my life is placing at a national level tournament allowing me to travel to compete in the world championships. As well as getting to compete in other countries on multiple occasions throughout the years. I've been scared to death about the impact that covid had on the game with tournaments in person. As regionals are slowly coming back in areas. I wasn't a fan at all of remote dueling and barely took part. I actually ended up carpooling with a group to travel a couple of hours to play at a location that didn't stop their tournaments due to regulations and recommendations back in 2020. I love the art as well OP, beautiful cards and superb with elegance. These three cards would have to be among my favorite in terms of art. As you, I've always perferred the older cards as they hold so much to that particular emotional value with it's design and direction.

Great thread. Konami is great at making iconic art

Posting more to keep thread alive
I love the card game in most of its varieties but I also love the original concept of the manga and season 0 of yugioh also exploring different dark games other than duel monsters. Wish we could get something like that again or a manga accurate remake of yugioh
