Tattoos

I noticed there wasn't a tattoo thread so I made one. I'd like to focus mainly on tattoo flash but photos are also great (although I'd not recommend posting any of your own for obvious reasons) Starting the thread off with some American traditional flash but any style is welcome. Also especially interested in trash polka. If by chance anyone knows of any good archives of American traditional tattoo flash (especially Sailor Jerry flash) I'd be very interested. Lain tattoos encouraged (obviously)

Tattoos are super cool. I'm surprised a thread like this hasn't been made yet. I especially love huge scale tattoos. (stuff like pic related. All from same artist iirc. quick reverse image tells me its Pony Reinhardt) Could we share and recommend tattoo artists that we interacted with and had great experience with before? I don't see the appeal of tattoos anymore. being around very niche communities where tattoos are traditions and popular is only offset by my disgust at normal people appropriating tattoos so now if I do get a traditional tattoo, people would just think i am trying to be a hipster. I'm also against religious tattoos because of the association with many of them. I did consider getting a traditional Japanese full body tattoo once, but decided against it.

Probably a good idea to avoid it if you're not about that life.

I've heard artist claim that modern ink should age better then older ink allowing for thinner lines and more complex designs that still look good years later. But honestly nobody will really know until the tech has been around for a long time. The saying "bold will hold" has always made the most sense to me though, but I'm not a tattoo artist.

The only judgment you'll probably receive (besides the typical weird looks from old people) would come from within the tattoo community, although it seems to hold a fair amount of respect for traditional tattoos so even then I doubt you'd have to hear much.

Get a coffee tattoo; a permanent latte art.

As cringe as it sounds, I've always really wanted a tattoo of Mamimi smoking her cigarette from that one scene in FLCL. It's my favorite anime and it got me out of a really dark place, that scene especially making me feel like I wasn't alone. I'd maybe want something like this one but on the top of my left arm by the shoulder area.

Not to rain on anyone's parade. I appreciate the art done in tattoos and all but, aren't any of you worried about it on a privacy perspective? I mean tattoo's are identifiers after all.

Just found this one around, reminded me of this thread. It looks rough, but i like it better this way.

i've got two "real" tattoos, on the inside of my forearm i have some pine trees with the words "rocks and trees are all of me" (words from a a song from my camp) and above my ankle i have "doki doki" in a heart. i also have like five stick n pokes from high school that i don't regret but do plan to get embellished or covered up. most of them have a tech theme, there's a mouse cursor, etc
