I just got a new computer. I also need a new wallpaper. Post your favorite wallpapers. Though if you have wallpapers that seem atmospheric and generally darker for the sake of seeing my desktop icons are greatly appreciated.

>>10272 as >>10273 said, it's a nice welcome. it's decoration, a lot like art hanging on the wall. you don't often take time to stare at it, but it sets the mood. if you're using something like pic related its like actual wallpaper, serving the exact same purpose as real wallpaper, but instead of covering drywall and cement, it's covering up blank pixels. not to say there's anything inherently wrong with wabisabi style blackness.. i have no source for the image. sorry. i wouldnt use it commercially, you never know where it might be from.

Massive fan of Rain World. I could take any room in the game and turn it into a wallpaper. The official art in pic rel is from the wiki of the game but I went out of my way to get ingame screenshots that fit my resolution with the Sharpener mod.

I recently found out about the artist Eugene Vasilyevich Sedukhin, who lived in soviet times and painted incredibly fascinating pieces of industry and workers of the soviet union. I decided to upscale the sympony of the sixth blast furnace and recolor it to fit my color theme. The recoloring kind of takes away part of it, but I am too obsessed with my color theme.

This is the absolute best wallpaper I've seen in this style. It's a mix of metalheart, with that style you see in the Wipeout series. Something about this style of graphic design really strikes me.
