I feel that a proper remake of Lawnmower Man would be great

I had loved the story of Lawnmower Man, but the original movie hurt greatly by the technology of the time. The idea of a simpleton becoming the most intelligent human through the use of virtual reality, only to upload his mind into a computer network and break the barrier between the real world and cyberspace. Something about the theme of bridging the divide between the real world and cyberspace really interests me, can't quite put my finger on it.

I dont think a remake is worth it, the original was great by all means, i love the movie. A remake might be nice but youre not gonna get a whole lot out of it unless you alter the story. Maybe what is fascinating about it is the idea of psychic ability induced trough artificile means is fascinating. The movie has some strange occult references, i never looked much deeper into what it was however. Speaking of anyone have a torrent for it at hand?

>>5918 But would it be great? I think the quality of the CG gives the film a very surreal tone. The realistic visuals in modern films would take away more than they add.

>>6149 That's why it would depend entirely on how it's done. If VR looks realistic (like how it was portrayed in Virtual Revolution) it would fall flat. It would have to be done right, not done for fan service.

>>5918 >black tard >female scientist >crappy CGI >worse acting There's the remake for you

>>6384 I don't think OP was asking for a remake. Certainly not that kind of remake.

Why not just an edited remaster instead of remake? Remakes often aren't that good but an edited remaster would leave original intact.

Limitless is about a more relatable guy who takes a wonderdrug which makes him supersmart. A different take on the same concept. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP-ZwmCPBAs
