Does Lain like Noir? Classic Noir, Neo-Noir, Polar, Tech-Noir, etc., all are welcome. What are your favorites? Does the style speak to you in any way?
Pic related is from The Third Man, which is generally considered to be one of the greatest classics in the genre. The contrast between the beautiful Vienna and the bombed out post-war tunnels and alleyways alongside the unique zither soundtrack makes it stand out as something unique.

what is polar noir?
don't really a big fan of classic noir, but i like a bunch of neo-noir films. just watched Mulholland Drive and freaking loved it, even though is more of a deconstruction-of-the-genre movie.
