Any lainons interested in photography? Have you felt burned out, and how you managed to win with it? I haven't made any good photos lately, and everything in my city seems so boring now, and everything looks the same.
Zero Cool · 2019-02-25 18:28
>>3078 And I kinda fuarrrked up now, by posting image in full res.
Fred Nurk · 2019-02-25 20:18
Yes. I walk around with my phone. It's a good way to explore the city, interior and exterior.
zz · 2019-02-27 20:19
i'm waiting for the winter to end so i can take long walks, explore and take some photos again actually, i bought my first camera a few months ago and had lots of fun with it, gonna experiment with some analogue photography next - maybe you should change your tools as well, lainon? it can work miracles sometimes

>>3085 I have both digital and film cameras, I would like to shoot film but I don't have money for it really :/

https://danielteolijr.wordpress.com/ This maniac has a lot of experience and tips for street photography, which sometimes gets dangerous the way he does it.
Nameless · 2019-03-01 06:16
>>3088 That's a very weird photograph lainon...
fsociety · 2019-03-01 09:23
>>3093 Hah, you should see the rest of his work. He actually has a pretty good article on self defence for the street photographer, he really does go to the skeeziest places for a shot.

>>3094 I need to browse this blog, don't have much time now
Meddler · 2019-03-02 07:52
New photo from yesterday, today going for bike trip and shoot some more photos.
zz · 2019-03-06 16:13
>>3087 yeah, i know, buy new film can really be a pain i n the ass; at least if you get film you could develop it on your own using coffee, it's the cheapest way i believe attaching random photo from last year, i have nothing more recent to post, still haven't developed my own films
Linda Lee · 2019-03-06 16:34
>>3116 I'd still need a developing tank and stuff, that's worst.
zz · 2019-03-06 18:16
>>3117 well, i don't know where do you live but i was able to buy cheap an old, used tank - it's not the most pleasant to use but it gets its job done maybe you should check local charity shops etc? or online auctions, idk, hope you have some luck, lainon, it's really pissing me off when someone can't continue their hobby bc of lack of funds
Elliot Alderson · 2019-03-06 18:45
>>3119 I can get a tank online, but still need to have a little more money for all this stuff.

>>3078 OP here, ordered some digital prints today, will get them on Tuesday, can't wait how will it turn out. >>3098 is one of photos that will be printed.

I tried taking some /cyb/ pics in HK recently, anyone interested? I use a 16megapixel phone cam

>>3158 Nice photos lainon, I'd suggest scaling those images down a bit before sending tho.
Tomohisa "Tom" Kanezaki · 2019-03-15 09:58
>>3160 lainon should also use RAW and manually reduce noise thresholds during editing, especially for night shots.
Roger Pollack · 2019-03-21 17:16
>>3157 It was some days ago, but I got the prints. Looking great, I want to frame them and I'm thinking what type of frame should I use. Anything lainons recommend? Can be from China, send links then.

>>3078 >everything in my city seems so boring now, and everything looks the same Try to be more positive. You might be surprised what changing your attitude might do for you. Those are a few photos I took. Two of them were taken in my flat, and the third was taken about 20 min walk from my flat (a place I tend to be 2-3 times I week). Mind you this (the 2 photos with the film camera in it) wasn't made using photoshop but rather I used long exposure and a flashlight! Get creative, experiment and try to learn from pros. Also sometimes introducing restrictions in someway can make you think more creative. Google "pro photographer cheap camera challenge" (this is where I was inspired with the flashlight idea). This is also why I second the idea of >>3085, try film photography. Film as expensive as is forces you to think more about your shots and prevent you from going to triger happy. The sunset was taken using Fuji Color 200 film.
Bob Arctor · 2019-08-18 11:37
Did some film shots recently. Ultramax 400 was soykaftier than I expected it to be.

>>3087 It's too much of a hassle and digital cameras have caught up in quality for the most part I'd like to get a point and shoot camera when my phone croaks... maybe one with manual controls. I started out with a Pentax K1000 and film, it was great to nail a good photo. Phones don't give you the same freedom.

Two of the only photos that survived my trip to the now demolished Fairview Training Center for the Feeble-Minded. I was there for a few hours and as I was leaving my phone fried the SD card and I lost everything. "Fairview was established in 1907 as the State Institution for the Feeble-Minded. The hospital opened on December 1, 1908 with 39 patients transferred from the Oregon State Hospital for the Insane"

>>6814 These are really cool, lainon. Did you shoot these with phone camera then edited them?
Aristóteles Amadópulus · 2020-10-12 22:27
>>6823 Nah, took an old camera (Olympus E-PL1) and removed the protective filter on the sensor. https://www.lifepixel.com/tutorials/infrared-diy-tutorials/olympus-e-pl1-ir But I didn't add the new filter, instead I screwed a filter on the lens, which only lets IR pass. Gives me the advantage of also screwing on filters for other IR wavelengths and maybe UV too. Moving the filter further away from the sensor diminishes the image quality tho. It's all about trade-offs. Pic related is the back of a TV remote, whose plastic can be penetrated by IR.
Lady 3Jane.. · 2020-10-15 01:31
>>6829 That is legitimately awesome. I've already got a decent micro 4/3rds system, I really ought to pick up an older body or two and try this conversion. I've done the usual long-exposure-IR-filter stuff before, but it would be really cool do it with regular moving subjects.

>>6858 There's one on a wooded hilltop in my neighbourhood, nowhere near traffic and I just know the view would be amazing, over the whole city, out to sea where there are islands and ships. I'm still not climbing it because in 2020 every damn thing in the world has alarms and cameras on it.

>>6894 Mask yourself. And how high are the fines if they still catch you?
Jim Hilger · 2020-10-26 20:54
>>6896 What are you talking about? There will surely be an alarm on it, and a service road leads right up to the site. There are these people here called "police". Let's put it this way. YOU go scale a radio tower, snap some photos with timestamp and post them here. What's stopping you, chicken?
Cowboy · 2020-10-26 21:38
>>6899 >What's stopping you, chicken? Nothing is stopping me. Worst case is getting caught and having to pay a fine (in my country). Best case is I snap some photos and get off the radio tower in time before the police catches me.
