Hello lainons. Today I accidentally an AMV from aMule while searching the Kad network, I casually opened it, and to my surprise, it was made in 2000(!) and surprisingly good.
Input #0, mpeg, from '[AMV] She's Always A Woman - Ah My Goddess, Digi Charat, Slayers, Utena, Sailor Moon, Lain, Ghost In A She.mpg':
Duration: 00:03:43.52, start: 0.406544, bitrate: 1362 kb/s
Stream #0:0[0x1e0]: Video: mpeg1video, yuv420p(tv), 320x240 [SAR 1:1 DAR 4:3], 1150 kb/s, 29.97 fps, 29.97 tbr, 90k tbn, 29.97 tbc
Stream #0:1[0x1c0]: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16p, 192 kb/s
The nostalgic memory from 2000 that lost in time, like tears in the rain. MPEG-1 video and MP2 audio, with clips from Ah My Goddess, Digi Charat, Slayers, Utena, SailorMoon, Lain, Ghost in the Shell, Rurouni Kenshin, and Evangelion. It was the time... In these days, these are the little bits of gold on a Internet full of soykaf.
So I searched the filename to find more. I got a thread (https://archive.fo/4Jt2b#selection-459.0-459.109) at animemusicvideos.org posted by an anime fan who unfortunately lost all the AMVs in 2003 on disk due to his little brother, but fortunately gave us a record of history, a list of AMVs that was downloaded around 2000 with 56 Kbps modem and later ADSL. I searched "Lain" and found the names of 5 videos, and tried to find them online,
and here's my results...

>Lain - Underground

it should be the theme song of Lainchain.
>Lain - Try

>Lain - Fake!
Apparently at least someone downloaded and saved it on a RAID array of some home server back in 2003 (https://archive.fo/w8bVd), and named "E:\FTP\Video - Music\AMV - Lain - Fake! - Conterfeit.avi". But I never managed to find this one.
Do other lainons have old Lain AMVs or memory to share?

if anyone knows, been trying to search for that one lain AMV that I seen a year ago... think the original uploader made it private or unlisted.
So basically the AMV starts with cisco commercial about how Internet of things will be great because we will all be interconnected, then it jumps to lains father talking to her about how internet isn't such a bad thing....
that is all I remember, if anyone knows the AMV please do link it

Really nice, lain! although visuals end up being a little repetitive.
What programs did you use?

Sounds like a cool AMV I'd like to watch it. I pledge to send 0.003 BTC to whoever managed to find it. Perhaps one should try asking on 4/8chan first, the probability of someone who has seen it should be higher compared to this slow thread.

> cisco commercial about how Internet of things will be great because we will all be interconnected,
Do you know which cisco commercial ? Is it the one with the cat and the milk or one of the newer ones ?

>Lain - Fake!
Tried doing some searching for this but all that turned up were alternate filenames (both mention other Lain AMVs as well)
"Lain - Fake - AMV"
https://archive.fo/eXynD#selection-297.1-297.18
"Lain - Fake! [Aluminum].avi"
https://archive.fo/VAb2r#selection-1125.1-1125.29
Second filename shows who it was created by (Aluminum), they even mention them in the second link. With that I found an AMV by Aluminum on youtube which gives a web address, with which I was able to find their AMVs page... and they just have it up for historical reasons and don't provide links to everything.

But it does mention the song used which is Limp Bizkit's Counterfit and with that, here you go

And for good measure, the AMVorg entry
