Was I supposed to get something intelligible out of this? I usually enjoy works with hidden meaning, but this feels less like the meaning is hidden and more like it doesn't exist. Alternatively, it only makes sense to David Lynch. Alternatively, I lack the context necessary to understand it. What am I missing?

did you watch the original show and The Return? I think that's the best way to enjoy fwwm. It's the Dark Souls 2 of the Twin Peaks series; if you liked DS1 and 3 but you need more time in the universe then DS2 is for you. That's how I see fwwm anyway.

I personally really enjoyed it. It's a darker look inside the universe we saw on TP S1&2. The grime is as intended, instead of hidden like in the first two seasons. Seeing things from Laura's perspective enhances everything, I think, and more mythos of The Black Lodge and its spirits.

there is a really good three hour long fan edit of this and some other cut footage which makes the whole thing make much more sense. i recommend finding and watching that. its called Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me – Teresa Banks, and the Last Days of Laura Palmer

I just finished The Return, and, while it was entertaining from episode to episode, I can't help but think that it was a bit of a waste of time, so I'm baffled by the positive reviews. Supposing the names "Twin Peaks" and "Lynch" were removed, would people still think so highly of it?
