Interview with Lain's character designer

Judge Fang · 2018-06-29 22:00
Recently, an interview with the character designer behind Serial Experiments Lain was posted to the toco toco youtube channel. It is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbadywNSKTs Have you watched it? What did you think? I quite like the interview style and think it's very relaxing; there are also some other interesting interview subjects on the channel. The channel doesn't seem to be very popular, which I thought was strange, since it has high production quality and seems to find relatively high profile people to interview. Maybe my tastes just aren't aligned with the general youtube crowd. In any case, what did you think?

>>2159 So he came up with Lain because his two bosses were skilled enough in leadership to trust their designer and not outright dismiss his first drafts?

Really well put together video, very pleasant to watch. The channel seems to have a lot of good content, even their older stuff with a different theme is still really professional and informative. Thanks lain

>>2159 This video is such a gem, thanks for sharing. It answered alot of questions I had on my favorite artist, ABe. I'm glad they let him expand upon his initial designs of Lain instead of scrapping the ideas. Here's ABe's Flickr if anyone's interested in his photography: https://www.flickr.com/photos/abfly
