It's like playing a tutorial or reading an introductory book on C over and over again. I was there once, but now seeing lain inserted into IRL images just hurts. I used to like SEL a lot, but then realized I only did so because it is the intro-anime to a whole category. Texhnolyze for example is better than SEL in most of SEL's main selling points, you just have to understand Ran very well. As you can see, it's like the same happy little group coming together in 2003 to outperform their 1998 selves. They do, and express a worldview without having to pin it on a mascot anime girl. I remember how this confused me then - why wouldn't you have a mascot anime girl? It eventually sank in and I salute them for this, but ever since then mascots have been making me sick. I think a lot of people don't get into Texhnolyze for the same reason plan9 didn't replace unix. The initial thing is good enough for their goals, they see no point in replacing their 9/10 with a 10/10.

The text file is my original PBM-format image file (the PNG is only included since lainchan doesn't support PBM). Credit goes to kr0npr1nz (whoever the fuarrrk that is) for the base image; *all* I did to it was clean it up, wash it out, make it monochromatic, and alter the eyes. The eyes were asymmetrical originally and I couldn't unsee it after I noticed, so I took some creative liberty with fixing it.

not super tryhard effort man over here but i hue shifted a picture of max headroom's background to a nice terminal shade. i go for more minimal things usually

>>2931 actually had a couple ideas on more stuff to do with this guy since it looks like he's back against a wall or peeking around a corner or something. low skill since i don't really know how to use a real image creation program, as a result i think v2 is better since the lines i added to v3 are kind of obviously a later addition to the art. but such is life.

Not gonna lie, I personally think the quote is cringeworthy/obvious, and the character looks a little too CGI. But had fun making this nonetheless.

Just kind of threw this one together for my dual monitor setup. I can't tell if it's missing something on the left side or if I should leave it empty.
