lain

Just finished watching Serial Experiments Lain, really cool stuff. Really cool 90's cyberpunk philosophy. For some reason i found it to be very emotionally captivating, especially between Lain & Alice. With Lain's sister was well. It is so witty that we all post on a website called Lainchan where she truly has ascended through the Wired and lives on to this day. Oh well, I'm on a website called "Lainchan", so figured I might as well make this post.

>>13104 She deleted her sister's soul after she saw the real version standing in her hallway

srsly how stoned out of their minds on weed and LSD were these beatniks actually when they made this anime?

>>13108 SEL is just "out there", but it's not difficult to find that kind of art if you consistently look for it.

I just watched episode one so im gonna journal some thoughts. Whatever computer God all the people killing themselves want to meet seems to be trying to contact Lain. It's powerful enough to give people in the "real world" visions. This is probably how it makes most of it's followers. There's some commentary about alienation. How the dad is talking about connections with people while his family barely talks to one another, he gets home late and is obsessed with the wired. He values the wired way more than his "real" social life. Kind of like the girl who kills herself. She doesn't see any value in a place like this so she abandons her flesh for a better, easier virtual world. Pretty interesting so far with themes that hold up well.
