Share your own stencil art on this thread and PLEASE, talk about the creation process, your thoughts on the piece, or whatever it is you want to say about it I fuarrrking hate it when lainanons POST REALLY NICE THINGS, and refuse to talk about what went behind the scenes, so please do; it'd be pretty cool

>>12918 I'll start by sharing my first attemp I took the Lain picture attached, posterized it and then printed it so that I could cut it and use it I could've tried drawing the damn thing, but I'm really REALLY bad at it, so I just went with the easiest route Second picture attached is the result Once I get a spray can, I'll plaster my neighbourhood with this specific design and probably other ones that are similar, so watch out

>>12918 I actually make a lot of stencils or black and white images for people. While I vary the process alot based on the picture being used, here is an example of how it can be done: The process is pretty easy in GIMP. First, what you are going to do is open your lain of choice. From there >Use a bright and unused colour to remove everything you don't want. Basically the entire background, and then any white/skin parts, which will become the negative (white space) in the end product >Use the color select or otherwise color to alpha the entire section you want to remove (the bright color) This section will turn into nothing or completely transparent for the end product >The leftover image should be a rough shape of what you will finish with >With the remaining image, use Posterize to level 2 with the Lumninance setting from the dropdown, and 100% Opacity to be honest, play with the settings and get creative. There's no perfect way to do this. >Use the threshold tool under the color tab to convert the image into a black and white image. Use the sliders to get your image to the right adjustments that you want. >Do a final Select by Color and choose the white portion. Remove this, and you should be left with a black only image, which will be the base for your stencil. Take this and modify it by fine tuning for your stencil material. You want something that you can easily cut out, and you will also need to ensure that whatever you have, you can manipulate the end product to allow parts that will hold the image in place, otherwise your cutout will just be an outline of Lain. Use a rigid material for the stencil that won't collapse or rip under its own weight. Then cut and spray wherever you legally can.

What's the operating system used in the personal computers in Lain called?
