I've been thinking about an idea for a movie, It's about how it feels to go outside and interact with people while being neurodivergent or having a sort of high sensory sensitivity. The whole gimmick would be extreme use of visual and audio effects. So for example I have this idea for a scene where the character is walking normally around the campus and someone asks him something out of nowhere and he turns around but the turn itself is kinda exaggerated both with visuals and audio, we can see his POV and everything has intense motion blur or some other effect and the sound of the voice keeps echoing and getting distorted. All this is happening in slow motion and while he finally turns the persons face is kinda blurry and it finally comes into focus as the words are getting more and more echoy and reverberated but finally it goes back to normal. There could be scenes like this with basically any mundane experience, for example car passing by or something. If there's already a movie like this I'd like to know, it doesn't have to be about this exact topic but similar in vibes (I already know about Enter The Void).

speaking as an allegedly neuro divergent individual this sounds bizzare and unrealistic even for a 'whats it like to be x' perspective. That sounds like whats it like to be on hallucination drugs and anyone can just do the drugs and find out. What I'd be interested in would be a movie that actually emulates human eyesight. Dark scenes would be hard but you could probably fake it somehow/use cgi/just dont do them, but for everywhere else eye-like DoF, focus changes, resolution profiles, and my personal interest, well managed stereo/2PoV distortions (either through having two screens and require viewer to wear goggles, or plastering images ontop of eachother especially in low distance to subject shots. Floaters would be funny too. Would be very interesting to see imho. Maybe there's something you could do with sound, too idk.

>>12556 >this sounds bizzare and unrealistic That's the whole point, it's supposed to be exaggerated.

>>12558 ok well sounds quite interesting then just so long as its not like 'day in the life of an autist'

check out the beginning scenes in the first episode from Berlin Alexanderplatz when Franz get's released from Prison. I think that captures a sensory overload pretty well, brought on by anxiety of having to face the real world again after some trauma and prison life. around five minutes in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7fYWasBhWc i'm sure there might even be an english sub somewhere.

Sounds devoid of any story. You need a base story, this is more of a vague concept. Autism sensory overload simulation videos have been done before. Schizophrenia simulators too. Also there has been VR that mimics different eyes conditions. >>12556 > What I'd be interested in would be a movie that actually emulates human eyesight. So like Being John Malkovich ?
