Tattoos Thread

Yu-ichi · 2024-03-29 22:23
I took a look at the catalog and realized we don't have a tattoo thread :) I'm planning on going full patchwork like pic related so it'll be cool to see some designs you like, styles you like and what you think about them ! You can post your tattoos, tattoos you found on the Internets or even just designs you think can look cool as tattoos.

>>11418 Honestly, got a few and want to get a few more. Specifically, my anchor for my late grandfather. Something I've been putting off for awhile. I might be getting it tomorrow.
Bobby Newmark · 2024-03-30 12:31
The best tattoo is no tattoo. God or 100 million years of evolution made you the way you are in either case you are an ovation to superior powers at work. The second best tattoo is a single work of art who cover half of your body yet isn't tryhard and fit you. And that won't look ugly when you are 40. The absolute worse is a small thing somewhere. Are you the bumper of a car? No, in fact it can be even worse: many small tattoos like OP picture. Even Russian criminal tattoos or the cartels ones look better.
Hong, Guil Dong · 2024-03-30 13:40
>>11420 >And that won't look ugly when you are 40. That's a tall order.
Agent Jones · 2024-03-30 15:02
>>11420 >Open tattoo thread >Talk about God and how he hates tattoos Funny how easy it is to track your posts, you're the only one on lainchan who can't stop talking about your religion in every thread, it's getting kinda annoying. >And that won't look ugly when you are 40 It will definitely look worse than the small ones in the OP picture. Colors fade quicker, touch-ups are harder to make. >Even Russian criminal tattoos or the cartels ones look better. The funny thing is, "russian criminal tattoos" ARE patchworks like OP picture.
Naomi Nascimento · 2024-03-30 15:16
>>11422 >It will definitely look worse than the small ones in the OP picture. Colors fade quicker, touch-ups are harder to make. on the other hand the top one and this one look like soykaf now so when you're fourty they'll probably still look like soykaf. The flowers aren't great but at least they're kinda pretty. Maybe when you're fourty they'll look like soykaf, too idk. >god hates tatoos if I recall correctly this is one of those things where the prohibition is against taking them on in mourning, not in general. Also I think 11420 wrote his bit in a balanced, secular ready fashion and your mis characterization of his statement is uncalled for.
Cat Mother · 2024-03-30 23:09
I know it's trashy, but i think i like womb tattoos
Unnamed · 2024-03-31 02:23
>>11424 Do people actually get those? I always though it's just a hentai thing...
Random · 2024-03-31 06:21
Mixed feelings on tats. I either love them or hate them. Color tats dont look that good unless muted colours or leaning toward monochromatic. Random tats on the body with no real plan or connection of theme at least just look tacky. I prefer things like sleeves and back pieces and tats with an occult purpose. >>11424 Way better trend than a tramp stamp which i never liked. It actually can look kind of appealing but also can look trashy so depends.
Delilah · 2024-03-31 10:50
>>11425 (Not @) I see a few folks showing of their womb tattoo. Most are in the BDSM scene and/or in sex work. (Evidently. Those are the ones most vocal and comfortable about their bodies and in how they show it off.) I think some of the designs are pretty. "Libido" is very minimal and could pass off as just a pretty generic tattoo. I imagine most people wouldn't know the message. Wouldn't regret getting one like it if forced to be honest. pic unrel. Wanted to share pics i found online. Title in filename.
Elliot Alderson · 2024-03-31 13:08
>>11427 Yeah the libido one looks cool I'd love to get one as I'm a twink but I will look horrible when I get older lol I know a few trans folks who got womb tattoos
Nanashi No Gombe · 2024-03-31 13:58
>>11428 Tattoo removal, tattoo touch ups and tattoo cover ups are all a thing. The problem with tattoos isnt how they look when you get older, the problem is the inks used in the tattoo and how your body reacts to the ink. Some brands and colours have toxic metals in them or become toxic when trying to remove them with a laser which I recall being a type of blue ink I think that does that. It's generally recommended to have a test spot done on you to see how your body reacts to tattoo inks the artist uses after looking up the ingredients.
Cowboy · 2024-03-31 15:50
>>11418 Cattle branding ritual. Self mutilation type dominance. The guy looks like a piece of scrap paper someone doodled on in math class. It's hideous and incomprehensible, which is why I think they're NPCs. Designed to cause psychological damage to real humans, which causes them to make loosh and become even less active in the world. Either that or they're supposed to finally tip us off that none of this is real. Which can go either way, towards control and pcification in a materialistic world of technological illusions, or a sign from "outside" telling you WAKE UP.
Cereal Killer · 2024-03-31 19:45
>>11430 Idk man, I really like it personally Reading a reaction as strong like yours make me want it even more lol >>11429 >Tattoo removal, tattoo touch ups and tattoo cover ups are all a thing. oh I guess I forgot about that. Makes me really consider getting a womb tattoo then..
Jane Doe · 2024-03-31 19:46
>>11433 >Reading a reaction as strong like yours make me want it even more lol And you don't question that impulse at all, do you buddy? Of course not.
Cutter · 2024-03-31 22:39
>>11434 This is a thread for people interested in tattoos, the original question wasn't "do you like tattoos or not" If you hate tattoos, just move on lol But yeah, it does make me want it even more if it piss off people who feel superior to others, calling them "NPC" :)
Yet Another Lainon · 2024-04-13 22:18
>>11435 >But yeah, it does make me want it even more if it piss off people who feel superior to others, calling them "NPC" :) That's the same thing I just said to you. Your childhood oppositional defiance makes you a slave. I can make you do whatever I want by putting a bit of pressure on knowing you'll double down even harder. It's not smart, it's not strong. You're deluding yourself and it's the reason why you would practice self mutilation just to feel "free" through dominating others and making them look at what you did to yourself. It's what children do. Have I made myself clear? Do I have to say the same thing in a few more ways to get it through your thick skull? You're punishing mommy and daddy, "I hate you so much I'll hurt myself to hurt you!"
Molly Millions · 2024-04-15 08:34
Tatoos are cool, we'll all get old and die soon enough that it doesn't matter anyways so decorate your skin however you please. People who actually care enough to whine about it through this thread are unbearable stuck-ups. As far as I'm concerned, I like tats of plants and animals, often really pretty and very hard to regret. Only real downside to getting tatooed is that it makes you easily identifiable by the police (but then again, there are less obvious/visible places to get them and ways to hide them).
Nguoi La · 2024-04-15 11:30
Please validate my existence, I need approcals of others to exist I wasn't allowed to express myself when I was younger so now I am "rebelious"

>>11463 That looks like tic-tic-toe. >>11424 I'm not keen on the descriptions for each tattoo, but a few of the designs look like an onate, tribal piece of art in itself. Suffer's design looks like a dragon's head to me. I found a tattoo idea from Steam News regarding the recent updates to Cult of The Lamb because it goes with that "tribal" look and feel.

I can't get over seeing tattoos as something disgusting, especially the green ones. They look disgusting.
Special Agent Bob · 2024-09-14 06:34
I don't like tattoos on women. Women are so beautiful. After I kept seeing photos of women with tattoos of my drawings I stopped posting my work online. It made me feel responsible for ruining beauty. I will have no part of it. I almost felt flattered by them until I regained my moral senses. Only God gets to see my work now.
Chani · 2025-02-26 02:30
i like tattoos i have tattoos i've done tattoos on myself and others i think tattoos on people can be beautiful i have one on my face and hope to get more when i become less reliant on engagement with corporate entities for my livelihood nobody is asking anybody to like tattoos, there will always be people without any it is a shame most other novel body augmentations for the moment are still pretty gimmicky
Chani · 2025-02-26 05:40
At 40 years old I wish I'd never got any of mine. Thankfully they're all on my upper arms, back and chest so they can be covered by clothing. Problem was I started getting mine at 16 and was inked up by the time I was 21. Young people make dumb decisions.
Zhora · 2025-02-26 13:32
I like tats but not sure Id ever get any myself in part from potential negative health effects of the ink. Maybe some small ones even though id rather do a full back piece. >>12176 You can always have them lasered off or get cover up tattoos.
12of7 · 2025-02-26 13:46
>>12173 I could give the second one white ink if ya'll know what I mean
Haruyoshi · 2025-02-26 20:22
>>12176 at which point do you feel you ended up regretting them? i feel similar about some of my early tattoos i got when pretty young, but all the rest i've gotten in my 20s i still really love. >>12177 what negative health impacts are you concerned about? with quality ink i've never heard of issues besides allergies or infection from poor tattooing/improper care.
Lady 3Jane.. · 2025-02-26 22:46
>>12179 Aside from infections and allergies, certain inks of certain colors and brands are toxic. The ink is a foreign body so it increases inflammation as an immunological reaction in the body. Though on flip side the increase in immune creation is thought to be positive in some cases. Tattoo ink or at least most of it increases cancer risks. Many inks also can interfere with medical imaging clarity and prevent you from even having an MRI because if you do you can get burned. There also has been cases of tattoo ink in the body accumulating in places like the lymph nodes and leading to unnecessary surgery from mistaking it as cancer or other medial issues.
Fred Nurk · 2025-02-27 01:21
>>12180 some caution is understandable, of course ink selection is largely up to you though, you can certainly insist upon an artist using certain inks. i've never had an issue with getting MRIs, haven't heard of that. as far as the cancer risk i'm sure there's some truth to it, but i personally figure there are so many practically unavoidable cancer risks in modernity and a limited overall risk considering how long tattoos have been around and how many people have grown old without clearly related health complications. if you want them, you may find it worth the risk. i've certainly enjoyed the process of tattooing myself and getting tattooed
Rick Deckard · 2025-02-27 21:39
>>12182 What a weird back tat in that first pic. I kinda like it and hate it. About MRIs it has to do with metal content of many inks. It only interferes with imaging if it's near the tattoo. It likely only heats up enough if fresh or large enough a surface area of coverage or in the MRI long enough. Well yes same can be said of smoking there are centurion chain smokers and like I implied it seems not every ink is carcinogenic. Doesnt cause cancer just increases risk. Not that I care about my life at this point just my vanity. I'd have to look at enough photos of people who are well tatted to see what kind of effects it has on their general appearance in time if it ages them faster or not. Too bad there isnt a twin study on that.
Incognito · 2025-02-28 12:46

no tattoos yet but these are my perspectives: >twin fantasy's album cover, probably with the line "You and me won't be alone no more" from the song Sober to Death under it >Ruby Rose's crest from RWBY, it's a very important show for me >something with FFX or Chronno Trigger, maybe even Space Fantasy or Undertale >probably a skull on my arm, not for any particularly edgy reason and not a hyperrealistic one, something like a jolly roger, just so I can remember death whenever >>11420 God has no ownership of my body if he made it rotteable, you sound like a kid complaining people are cheating on a game using loopholes in the rules he made. "WHAT YOU CAN'T USE YOUR BODY'S ADAPTABILITY TO MAKE COOL DRAWINGS I am angry" >>11422 I do hate patchwork, I like tattoos as a means of storytellinf way more than as just random pictures in your body, it seems like wasted potential. >>11424 These are fun, I would definitely do one of these after I get laser shaving on my crotch >>11427 I have too many pets for these >>11463 hehe nice one anon

>>11420 I'm thinking of doing this for both arms, would that look gay on a dude? How does it age? is it gonna look like soykaf in 10 years even if I go see a tattoo artist every 2 years or so to fix it?

The only issue I have with tattoos aside from when someone has bad taste is how the body interacts with the ink. Is there any new tattoo ink tech in development that is not carcinogenic and doesnt make your body fight the ink like crazy?
Cutter · 2025-12-18 23:28
