Yosuga no Sora, the anime, has an aesthetic that to me is incredibly soothing and peaceful. The music does help of course, but thinking about it now I feel like the predominancy of blue-ish colours is what really made it so special. The contrast of the sky and rice fields, the asphalt, coupled with the sounds of nature never fail to bring some tears to my eyes. I have seen a lot of anime and to date I have never seen any show that made me feel quite like this. Objectively it's not a very good anime in terms of story, but the artistic side of it I find so incredibly appealing. Is there a name for this kind of 'blue-ish / cold' nature aesthetic? I would love to be able to find another work that could make me feel a little like this again.

Could you perhaps post screencaps that demonstrate what you mean? Maybe Non Non Biyori would be what you're looking for, however it is unclear based on what you have written.

I consider Yosuga no Sora to be part of the 00s VN aesthetic. Just check out other VN based shows from the 00s.

Ah, how much I miss that look. Would be cool to see a modern anime like that, however VNs nowadays are dying or don't get adapted at all.

I would say Onegai☆Teacher fits it pretty well, you could define your show more as just rural japan anime, they are pretty nice indeed.

I laughed.
For actual soothing anime, consider:
> mushishi
> Kinos journey

He wasn't talking about the content, but the aesthetic of the anime.
