Recently I've noticed that I tend to be extra negative when trying a new game or show in a very specific way. An example of what I mean is I can watch a show and think something like "I don't like the pacing." Then instead of opening up to other aspects of that show I might like I focus on that one thing and end up convincing myself I don't like it. Even if it isn't really that bad and I was just looking at the one thing. Is this a normal development in how I interact with media? Does anyone else have this problem? If I choose to be more critical of what I consume in the end that's fine, I just want to enjoy my freetime without throwing out new stuff because I'm narrow minded. If you've shared my experience give an example of a movie or comic or whatever where one problem tainted your experience.

>>10418 Yeah, it just means that you're picky with what you watch, I'm the same I think. I can actually watch bad shows, but there are certain characteristics that annoy me way more than they should.

As I've grown up I've come to realize my free time is limited. Consequently I really don't like to waste my time on a soykafty product. I've consumed enough products to recognize red flags early and nope the fuarrrk out of there. For example, hideous goddamn low-frame-rate CG in an anime, click-to-move controls in a video game in the year 2023, etc. Zero tolerance for bad trends that everyone should know are bad and should have stopped doing after a learning period.
