Do any Lains have any webcomics they care to share or talk about? I just found out about Pepper and Carrot, a free/libre webcomic about a cute witch girl and her cat having fun and making potions.

These are what's still in my favourites folder. Al-Rashad - a sort of culture clash between fantasy Vikings and a fantasy Arabia. Like the Norse epics collide with the 1001 Arabian Nights. http://mightygodking.com/al-rashad/ Gold Digger - long-running series about a girl archaeologist and her adopted were-cheetah sister. http://antarcticpresslibrary.com/ Atomic Robo - adventure serial with a smartass robot built by Nikola Tesla. http://www.atomic-robo.com/ Elfquest - A tribe of elves cross their world after their forest is burnt by humans. http://elfquest.com/read/digitalEQ.html Empowered - sometimes humorous, sometimes dark exploration of superhero tropes. http://www.empoweredcomic.com/ GenXorcist - a superhero on the run from the SCP Foundation, gathering a ragtag band of misfits, cryptids and urban legends, reinventing themselves as heroes. http://www.genxorcist.com/ Girl Genius - Steampunk series, following a young woman who discovers that she is heir to a legacy of scientific adventurers and tyrants in a world full of mad scientists. http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/index.php Spinnerette - a college student grows six arms and shoots webs out her butt, and decides to become a superhero. http://www.spinnyverse.com/ Unsounded - fantasy series. http://www.casualvillain.com/Unsounded/ The Wandering Ones - a tribe of native American trackers in post-apocalyptic America. http://wanderingones.com/ What It Takes. A female martial artist trying to find her scientist boyfriend after a plague has wiped out most of humanity. http://acityinaplace.com/index.php Lackadaisy - prohibition era gangster cats. http://www.lackadaisycats.com/index.php

Webcomics eh? I haven't truly touched those in probably a decade. I used to really love quite a few of them, like Vgcats, Fanboys, and this one called Bob and George, but that was in my teenage years, and while some of them still have funny moments spread out here and there, I wouldn't recommend getting into them in 2017 because the bar has raised a lot since then. Perry Bible Fellowship is still decent from what I can see, but I don't read it anymore. XKCD is appealing to some, but for the most part I find it boring. Are there any good cyberpunk themed comics?
Lain Iwakura · 2017-12-15 10:51
Smbc and xkcd if you like witty comedy. Gunnerkrigg court and girl genius if you like story (stick with gunnerkrigg, it gets a lot better). Existential comics if you like lame philosophy jokes.

This one has a lot of potential, but it updates at a ridiculously slow pace: http://necropoliscomic.tumblr.com/

http://freefall.purrsia.com/ It's sci-fi, and does a good job of portraying human society through non human eyes. I miss Minus. http://kiwisbybeat.16mb.com/Kiwis/minus114.html

drugsandwires.fail cyberpunk cool soykaf with drugs and technology and stuff. I like it
Wintermute · 2017-12-16 12:55
>>1509 Cyberpunk? There used to be this thing called Monica Furious, that hit all the right notes, but it was discontinued.
Y.T · 2017-12-16 13:16
>>1509 > Perry Bible Fellowship ...makes about 2-3 strips a year now at most. The thing is though it's still as good as ever, just so infrequent.
Joey · 2017-12-25 15:43
bouletcorp.com French webcomic but it is translated to English (some of it at least). Mostly comedy but not only. Do hit the random button a few (dozen) times if you don't like what you see, as he has done many kind of stories in several different art style across the years.
Y.T · 2018-01-01 06:47
>>1523 http://drugsandwires.fail is really good. heres the clickable link for the lazy. Fisheye Placebo is a must read its very cyberpunk and modern. It's about revolutionary hackers https://tapas.io/episode/2139 I remember reading this almost yaoi esque comic about scifi fighter jet pilots which was really good but i forgot the name.
Ein · 2018-05-05 21:46
Devils Candy (http://devilscandycomic.com) is pretty great, it's about a monsterboy creating a monstergirl.
Yamaoto Toshi · 2018-05-08 21:44
http://romanticallyapocalyptic.com/ and http://killsixbilliondemons.com That is all

>>1496 I actively dis-recommended Spinnerette lainanon. I haven't checked up on it in some years but several story aspects really turned me off of it. The writer has made apparent that he will actively make the story worse for what I can only infer as political purposes.

>>1496 >Girl Genius That brings back memories. I used to read that one(and numerus others I don't remeber the names) at the end of my high school, long long time ago. Now only read a few: https://xkcd.com/ - lots of science humor http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots.html - comic about a group of adventures trying to kill the evil lich http://www.goblinscomic.org/ - some goblins decide to form a adventure part and bring glory to there clan http://www.blastwave-comic.com/ - a post nuclear tale about two soldiers (updates at random, some times there are months or years between pages)

>>1489 Can you recommend any web comics that have any academic/intellectual themes? I want something like XKCD. I miss the old days of XKCD.
Jim Hilger · 2018-06-14 07:37
>>1987 By ''actively make the story worse for what I can only infer as political purposes", I can only assume you mean you bailed when the heroines became a couple. Actively bailed when they actively became a couple. And I think you mean contra-indicate when you say dis-recommend. Does the fuarrrking inform lower your fuarrrking IQ when you take it? Actively lower your IQ when you actively take it?

>>2110 I suppose there's Dresden Codak, although it has its problems. http://dresdencodak.com/ Hark, a Vagrant http://www.harkavagrant.com/ Freefall http://freefall.purrsia.com/default.htm

Seconding Gunnerkrigg Court - gunnerkrigg.com/archives Another good fantasy webcomic is Unsounded - http://www.casualvillain.com/Unsounded/comic+index/ Free Mars is good and has a neat aesthetic but it's disappeared from its original site and I haven't found it anywhere else. I really like Subnormality but it's not for everyone, it has too many words - http://www.viruscomix.com/subnormality.html >>2110 There's Existential Comics - existentialcomics.com

>>1489 Thanks OP. I've just started reading Pepper and Carrot and I'm loving it so far.
Morpheus · 2018-06-16 15:36
http://avasdemon.com a webcomic that pushes the boundaries by including some animated sequences, there own music, and is generally amazingly painted and has a great story about somewhat shizophrenic characters with powers. great comic about a witch http://hemlock.smackjeeves.com

Are there any decent webcomics overview lists anymore? I remember back in the early 00s most webcomics were listed and often ranked on such sites, but these days I can only find incomplete listings with terrible search support.
Tyrell Wellick · 2018-09-13 00:42
>>2602 Never mind. Found a site called comic-rocket which is pretty decent right after this post by changing my search terms. So ignore me, I suck cock.
