Saw this on /v/ and stole the idea. Here's what it said:
Which do you prefer? Do you think physical will/has died down? Any other thoughts on the subject?
How about you, /vis/?

I prefer physical with digital backups. I don't mind buying anime especially if it's physical since I end up enjoying the ones that I physically own over the ones I have exclusively digital.

How physical are DVDs anyway ?
You can't access the content without some electronic machine.
Unless there is some really nice trinket included, I don't see the point over download.
(Streaming is of course out of question, don't want to rely on a third party.)
But when it comes to books (manga, comics, BD, whatever) vs e-books, I much prefer the low tech physical books. So much more reliable.

I second this. I prefer physical books in part because of reliability, but also because they look nice and I like the idea of an (often) aesthetically pleasing physical object that contains ideas or stories that I love. More so than a dedicated digital storage device.

I like both. If I like it enough, then I'll get a physical release for display. I do this with movies, music, anime, videogames, and books.
