No camera but I can say what my battlestation might look like. I'm planning on doing a mini-itx build on a budget, have planned out all the parts I'll be buying. The case will be the Cooler Master Elite 120, which is small, but not as small as the 110. I would've bought the 110 until I realized the PSU blocks about half the inside, and sits almost directly on top of the mobo. The 120 is similar in position, but is slightly taller and has further room in the back and sides to allow for more airflow. Plus it comes with a couple case fans already, with another spot for one (which I will use). While I'm not expecting the best airflow, using this case will have better airflow than the other I'm going to be using a Pentium G3258 and a MSI mobo (B85i) that apparently overclocks the processor well, and use a R7 360 for the GPU. I'm cautious to overclock this CPU with such a small case, but I'll really only use it during the winter when I'm in college, and I keep the room cool anyways, so it probably won't be a problem. I don't need the power if it is a problem, so it's a win-win. >>8547 >want a cute laptop! Time to visit Craigslist (or equivalent) Chromebooks are pretty cute, and easily boot whatever flavor of linux you want. Not to mention they have SSDs, so boot time is fast, but storage space is small. I recommend getting an SD card for storage if you get one. >>8561 Maybe you should be asking why he has a trash can on his desk. Maybe the answer to my question answers your question.

>>8641 That's a great desk, I'm jelly.
Anonymous · 2015-07-22 23:23
>>8618 I once thought there were 2 entrances on both sides of the kitchen table, but there's an episode where Frasier is hiding from Martin behind the table, so it wouldn't make any sense if there was an entrance there. >>8629 Thank you. I'm using the CRT for my Sega Genesis at the moment. I discovered it has component inputs in the back, so I'm curious to see what a newer game system would look like. I've only used component on LCD/LED TV's.
Anonymous · 2015-07-23 00:45
>>8644 I expected something along these lines; really cool. Had a Genesis as a kid and still got a N64 in storage and thought about getting a setup like yours, hence I'm glad to see that wouldn't be without precedence. Though I'm not quite sure yet if it's really worth it. Please do tell us, if you ran anything else on that CRT; would be much appreciated.

Must be the first time I post in one of those threads. Since I knew them I was always amazed by how some audiophile anons had uncluttered desk with their sound systems right beside their rigs, headphones within easy reach. Now it's my turn to be one of yours.

>>8694 For the Lain picture, it was a shopped Theotokos with Lain face I made some time ago and uploaded here on bestchan. Made it printed on photo paper and it will eventually end in a beautiful frame to sit on my desk like a religions icon. For the audio setup, speakers are Eltax Pro III, the amp is a vintage Akai AM-U02, the turntable an AP-B20C from the same brand. I don't remember about the Sony headphone, must be a pretty common 50/60 bucks headphone, still good and sturdy enough to be carted around for several years now. Overall I don't really know what it's worth but I guess if can ear the bass from poorly produced UG black metal albums and full sound range from classical stuffs or something like this [1] then it must be ok... >>8699 Wow, definitely saved that picture and will be printing out a page for my dorm once classes start. Do you have anymore like this? If you make more please upload them, this would make a great poster. I always thought Kalyx should open a shop on the $$ page where users can submit OC so we can sell and part of the money goes to lainchan hosting and part to the creator. I would definitely buy a high quality poster of this from there.

>>9016 Hey anon, I actually have this TV; you see, my neighbor was throwing it out so I picked it up and brought it home. Is there a LINE channel or is it channel 3 I should be tuning to? I'm attempting to hook up an N64 to test it and I'm not getting anything besides static. Could be that it doesn't work, but I was just wondering... Oh by the way, it didn't come with a remote.

Anonymous · 2015-08-12 18:42
>>9146 Never put a tower on the floor. It gets dust in it so much easier.
Anonymous · 2015-08-13 02:19
>>9068 Hate to say this, but without the remote you can't do anything. One flaw of this set is that they didn't include a way to switch to whatever video output you're using for your console, movie player, ect.. on the set itself. The channel 3/4 thing is usually something reserved for devices connected using an RF cable. I'd say it's worth it to get a remote, but the official one cost me more than the TV itself. You may be able to use a cheap generic universal remote, but that's outside of my realm of knowledge.

Perhaps you could buy a cheap folding table to put your laptop on? >>9697 7/10 Kind of a similar issue, I would suggest cleaning up your room. Remove the hamper of dirty clothes, put it in your closet or in a corner or something. Clear off that dresser a bit, put some display kind of items on it. >>9688 6/10 You have a lot of potential there though. Clean up those wires, perhaps move that folding table somewhere else and just tidy everything up more. I actually kind of like that table setup, it looks spartan and strong. >>9485 7/10 Buy new headphones, atleast ones that cover your ears. Also a mount for them would look nice. Besides that consider more wall decor, a poster, painting, or whatever. >>9146 8/10 You really have all the parts of a great setup, but you need more space to spread them out. Two small stands on each side for your speakers would be great, but really just try to spread things out more. Perhaps a single larger table? >>9006 4/10 I have those Audioengine speakers, but in black. I plan on getting the sub. My 45TB+ array is still here, downstairs where I can not hear it, but I have decided to move down to a single laptop (T410) as my primary, and I have a few spares if something goes wrong. It feels pretty darn minimal, which I hope is not to lame for you all. Not quite sure if I like the TV there, but it is nice for watching anime when I am done working. I may get rid of it though, as it is a little bit of a distraction, and kinda makes the space weird.

Balance between full-on desktop and nearly nothing is needed, so I'd go with that first pic. Also, if that's going to be placed with any permanence, I suggest getting a docking station. Allows for DVI out, more USB ports, and headphone/speaker out all at the back, for neater cables. Totally worth the $20 it cost for mine. I have a similar setup, waiting for things to come from kalyx before posting.
Anonymous · 2015-10-22 14:10
>>12613 I feel like my productivity drops with multiple screens sometimes. That's not always true, but sometimes it becomes a little bit of a distraction. As for keyboard an mouse on the second picture, they are on the keyboard tray that slides out under the desk. The mouse is a trackball mouse, so I do not need a lot of space to operate to because I do not have to move it. The keyboard is a 60% Pok3r so it all fits down there.
Anonymous · 2015-10-22 14:12
