>brian "I WrOtE fOr ThE PoSt" Krebs wrote an article on spamhaus, where @notdan a infosec expert pointed out the flaws >Brian krebs got so butthurt he doxed him for disagreement >kevin mitnick joins in and gets called out for his bullsoykaf. krebs and kevin both deleted all there posts after they were called out on there soykaf! https://twitter.com/notdan/status/1122146975170822145

The absolute wonder of social media

I feel like all this drama soykaf is inherent to being part of social media. Seriously, it happens with everything. When I was part of various consoles homebrew scenes soykaf went all over the place because someone said something about anything so the developer would black list their psn/steam IDs so they couldn't use their stuff. Also, as an opinion, infosec twitter is mostly pure crap. Off-topic >cybercrook Holy soykaf, can we add this as a filter for hacker or something like that? I love the term

What's VC doing in this mix? What was on the image krebs posted?
Spooky · 2019-04-30 04:37
>>7738 I am not entirely sure. But he did call out spamhaus for blacklisting port scanning IPs recently, so that might be the related somehow?
Bob Arctor · 2019-04-30 04:41
>>7738 About the picture, I am guessing it's VC's IP address location, because it fits the context.

>>7737 >hacker->cybercrook word filter YES also: yes drama is inherent in social media, it's the worst in twitter and its ilk. Anywhere where people are doing things for attention, which is almost literally everywhere social, drama happens, but it's the worst on twitter because the platform encourages everyone(particularly famous people) to be their worst self. Part of the reason why I don't use it. I've had a much more generally-positive experience on ActivityPub: I can just ignore drama storms and come back when things have blown over, my friends are still there somewhere.

Someone said something on the wired. Taking screencaps of it to start a discussion never ends anywhere. I wish people would stop.

Social media dramas are nothing but pissing contest, where everyone shouts but nobody listens.
Emmanuel · 2019-04-30 17:11
>>7739 >>7740 VC posted a video explaining how syn scaning spamhaus made you blacklisted automatically here is the video https://youtu.be/h8WCVwyZyg0

>>7736 >>7737 It's not a social media issue, it's a "journalist" actually doxing someone just for disagreement, he is supposed to be held to a higher standard.
Jane Doe · 2019-04-30 18:41
>>7735 Krebs has dedicated a large part of his life to doxing cybercrooks and paid the price with serious soykaf like constant death threats and swattings and people sending heroin to his house so it makes sense that he's not well adjusted to dealing with something minor like this.
Neuromancer · 2019-05-01 01:45
>>7735 >Vincent Canfeld >"How's the Weather in Oregon" he says >Head of a cybersecurity firm doesn't know what VPN is >Head of a cybersecurity firm can't do basic opposition research >If he did he'd know that VC is a public figure, under no alias, who has been a resident of Romania since 2015 What in the literal fuarrrk is this
Case · 2019-05-01 02:28
>>7749 >it's a "journalist" actually doxing someone just for disagreement doesn't take away the fact that it happened in social media, where everyone thinks and acts like almighty. >journalist >higher standard don't lie to yourself
Delilah · 2019-05-02 20:16
>got so butthurt he doxed him There is nothing wrong with sharing publicly available information. Stop demanding from people to affirm your illusion of privacy.
SHODAN · 2019-05-02 20:29
I do not care in the slightest.
