Has anybody ever tried to hack these?
I can't find anything about electric scooter. It seems old Segway could be hacked because of a vulnerability in the phone app. I suppose it would be the same here.

you can rent them with a app on your phone

Yes, of course, but is there a way to bypass this app to derestrict the speed, for exemple?

i see people with these all the time in my city, never used it because lol GPS analytics/tracking, but I wonder if you could use GPS spoofing to get free rides (simulating it being in the same place)

Yes, I suppose the GPS tracking is the first problem to get rid of. I'm not into hacking, but I can't believe no one has already figured out how to to dit.

I overheard some college students talking about trying to move them outside their operating parameters and what their results were a few days ago, but I have actually not taken a close look at any of them

>NO ONE HAS FIGURED OUT HOW TO DO IT
>"I am not into hacking"
people that profit from hacking will not share their techniques willy nilly
maybe in 90s they did, but today it is quite profitable to use your skills and profit for yourself
let me play devils advocate for instance and act as if I were the hacker in question that got info that could benefit you.
"Why would I help you?"
"What is it there for me?"

plenty of hackers put stuff out there to help others. Plenty of hackers are motivated by something other than profit.

I know that, and I was not searching for a hacker who did it. But I am going to play along and say that I could pay for a permanent solution. Too bad this doesn't exist!

Well sure when it's something cool, but allowing people to get free rides on scooters? I think the bounty for reporting the exploit is more lucrative than potentially getting your ass sent to jail for some cheapskates.

bounties are usually beer money at best. I'd take the free scooter rides.

Haven't tried it yet, but someone should just proxy this application through burp suite and start poking around. Could be interesting.
