Private Sitehosting

I've been thinking about creating and hosting a website for downloading old computer and video games. I have experience in creating such a site and about 12 TB of games. I have no idea how to host one though. Of course it would need to be private so I don't get swarmed by DMCA takedowns and lawsuits, like emuparadise. So my options would be >hosting the server myself Is it possible to be anonymous that way? Does any VPN allow for such a high bandwidth? >let someone else host it Any recommendations? I have no idea how much it would cost and how much bandwidth I'd need. I only have experience in the coding part, not the hosting part. Also I live in central europe so privacy is important so I don't get v&. Any input is welcome.

There is plenty of old game filesharing sites, like myabdandonware.com and fuarrrk knows how many others. Servers are expensive to run, wouldnt recommend for mere file sharing. Also gotta ask is that pice you posted real or is it just some kind of renderer? Cuz it looks really cool.

>>5569 Yeah I know but a lot of them are bad dumps, compressed and some titles are hard to find. My idea was offering complete romsets that are verified and good to go. No idea if this thing is real I just googled server.

>>5568 12TB of storage in the cloud is VERY expensive. If you bought that in local storage you'd pay about £300 to bat just for the drives. To host that some where you're looking in the region of £100 a month. Given that you already must have the 12TB of storage at home, your best bet would be to host it there. You can set up nginx as a reverse proxy, so people request that that server and it communicates with one at your home. So to the public it looks like your server is else where, but it's actually all at your home. That can be as cheap as $5 a month. How ever this comes with bandwidth limitations, and response speed, you'll need to make sure you've got great upload speed.

>>5568 I am using one of these for myself: https://www.soyoustart.com/us/server-storage/ You could try two of the 6TB servers for 34USD/month. I believe it's as low as you can go thinking about storage only.

>>5570 If you are thinking about doing verified ROM sets, what about something like a torrent site? You make the original folder then link the magnet link.

>>5568 speaking of old computer games don't you get somewhat paranoid about these sites and the potential soykaf bundled with it? or you play them all on a seperate machine or vm?

Does Sealand still operate a data haven?

if you have an isp that provides good upstream bandwidth, it's amazingly simple to set up a tor hidden service on your own hardware. you can make it ftp or just an indexed directory with apache or whatever, accessible with filezilla (ftp) or tor browser (http). very clear, simple instructions for this on the torproject site. you can even do this on your cellphone using orbot and a server app like kws pro.
