I can't use it like any other "secure" texting apps because
1)nobody really uses them
2)its really hard to convince people into using them
3)it attracts unwanted attention
So that's basically these apps are dead in the moment they launch. There is virtually no market for them and that seems to remain the same for a long time, maybe forever.

I've used Keybase's chat for some time now. Keybase's main features are not chat, but having chat makes using keybase easier; the app is not very invasive, I think of it more like real-time file notation for whoever is sharing.
