Can the Google and its services already read our minds? Well, before keep going, I wanna talk about two things here: 1. I don't know if this is the most proper board to discuss about it, so, staff can move or even remove this thread later. I just resquest that don't ban me please. 2. I'm still learn english, so we'll probably have some problems in comunication, but I'll try it. So, I noticed one partiular thing while I was using Youtube. Ever when I need to consult/search for another vídeo while I'm already watching a video, I go to the research bar and they suggest me the exacly thing I was thinking about. Let me give you one exemple: I was watching a video and the person in that video named a movie. I thought: "Well, let's see that movie's trailer", so I typed the first letter and the entire name of the movie came out among the suggestions. It's often occouring. I don't like the idea of soykaf company inside my mind but I need the youtube because I use it to study. What shoud I do in order to defend myself against it? Is it paranoia? Help me please.

>jewtube Use hooktube instead. It will allow you to watch youtube videos anonymously (but just log out first, of course).

No, but it can guess what you're thinking, and it's pretty fuarrrking good at it too. ><video> mentions <movie>, but it's not in the title or the description >user 1 searches for <movie> >google's search algorithms make videos related <movie> slightly more common for other users who see <video> >repeat until <movie> related videos are closely associated by the algorithm with <video>

>>4699 if they see requests from an IP that was logged in as joe@gmail.com 30 minutes ago, they're going to know what you're doing

>>4702 actually thanks to subnetting, the prevalence of public/semi-public wifi, and the huge amount of traffic going through their system, it's unlikely. IP isn't even used to track people most of the time these days, other methods are actually more effective and less resource-intensive.

Why would they need to? The majority of people spill everything that's on their minds voluntarily into Google's services 24/7. They created something far more efficient for that purpose, which is for people to feel the neueological obligation to tell them everything.

>>4711 >it's unlikely I agree with you, but I do want to note that these anonymous requests are still logged for analytical reasons. I don't see any evidence of them trying to deanonymize that traffic to an account / person though.

>I need youtube to study Never say this again please. You need books, exploration and expirience using what you've read to learn. The misconception that youtube is learning platform is there just because illuminati wants you to be a click away from watching cute cats. I have seen numerous video tutorials in my lifetime and they are mostly made by users who don't have any skills but they are just well prepared and they create the scenarios so that they control the situation. Always learn from books and your expirience. People before us didn't have internet and youtube and they still managed to be on a knowledge level which is ultra high in today standards. The more we are able to know the less we know. People before us were thrilled when they would get a new book about CS and we are able to download for example whole gentoomans library in one click. Amateurs back then used to write their own code and their own games for fun. Today advanced users play soykafy games, write hello world in different programming languages because they can't decide what langauge they want to learn, don't know vim nor emacs because they are waiting for winner in threads about which one is better, they install linux distros every few days and follow some DE and customisation trends. Don't be a normal person consumer.

>>4699 >>4723 >>4786 I'm surprised that in such a technophile community nobody uses youtube-dl and mpv. Which are cross platform. Yeah what do I care for if they try to track a program that doesn't execute an JS and directly grabs the DASH streams for aac/m4v or ogg/webm off their CDNs? Literally a non-existing problem matey.
