basically im a colossal retard and fuarrrked some soykaf up in persistent mode thatd take like an hour or 2 to unfuck so i have just deleted the virtual machines and reinstalled whonix from the same .ova file.
is this ok or could soykaf from persistent mode now be present in that file? should i have deleted the .ova and downloaded it fresh??

it looks like when i first installed it and im having to set everything up again so i think its fine but would appreciate if someone more knowledgeable could let me know if its possible if something could've been added to the .ova

Don't know about .ova but I fresh reinstall my kvm whonix all the time without much issue. The biggest issue is migrating bookmarks. This can be solved by either exporting before migrating the VM or keeping a text file filled with links.
Whonix has unfortunately taken on a lot of cancer as of late however, so this may not still be a viable method. But AFAIK it's not an issue to delete and reinstall. In fact, for security, it would probably be a good idea to do this every once in a while.
As for "anything added to the .ova", in what way? Do you mean MITM shenanigans? I believe whonix provides a hash. Check it. As for cancer ridden AIDS infested "current year (((linux)))"? Yes. Most definitely.
